I’ve done a search and found nothing. Has one of these ever been produced? Or diy’d?
I don’t really want to chop the tank up.
Using a key is becoming an inconvenience ....
I just dropped a b12(same size as 1100f) into a slabby 750.
As @dupersunc said, remove the sump and drill rear mount to and it’ll pretty much slide in.
Let’s be honest- it’s going to end up 1230 at some point, so best do it now, whilst it’s at the engine builders....
This is OSS , so peer pressure is required.
I used cb900f on my Kat- jacks the rear up nicely.
All I would say is a I found the fork on the bottom of the cb shocks slightly narrow. I filled off a few mm from the gsx swingarm and they then fitted fine.
Already using early b12 as primary cooler . Looking to use something OEM but slightly larger (if possible) for the head cooler.
Just re-measured, 400mm max will work if I can find one.
Do any bikes in the oil cooled family use a cooler that has feed/return on the top and approx 360mm-ish wide?
Looking to run an additional head cooler on the slabby and the slingshot one I have measure approx 440mm wide so will not fit in the fairing I’m using.
Looking to achieve something similar to this:
But this is OSS- surely we’re not expecting a standard Kat?
The only Kat bits on this are fuel tank and windscreen brackets. Everything else is from some other bike or reproduction .
I’m assuming the real question is “can I build a cheap Kat using a gsSeven’fiddy frame?”
Short answer is yes(but “cheap” is a relative term. )Try and find a “cheap” Kat tank .
I’ve looked on the micro fiches and cannot find one with the sender like it is on this tank.
Can anyone tell me the part number for the rubber seal?-my one has gone crispy
There’s got to be a market for Ali gs1000 tanks.
I expect a batch of 10 would sell for a half sensible price if someone were to be willing to make them
