Danm54 Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Damn this new forum, someone always has to change something! Few pics of the cush hub after anodising, forgot to take a pic when it was fitted. 3 Quote
Danm54 Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 And these arrived from the states yesterday, supposed to be off a 0 miles bike, not sure if they are but the very tidy and also straight. Got a pic through from Stu as well, lock up is fitted to the stock clutch. Needs a new battery as the old one is dead, hanging around for a couple of years hasn't done it much good!Booked in for some dyno time and tuning on Wednesday, hopefully it all goes ok... 1 Quote

slingy1157 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Good to see you back. Looking forward to how it goes on the dyno and to see what an injected draw through operates like. Much coolness Quote
Fula28 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Great news then Dan, Stuart uses Track electronics John is very good at custom maps and odd ball running /tuning too. Sure it will be sweet. Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Its a brave (or foolish) man that rides a 200+hp turbo bike with a single front brake - which are you? Quote
Fula28 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Be ok Gixer, buells weigh 400kgs most of that's ditch pump motor lol, so gsxr is a feather weight by comparison! Quote
Danm54 Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Haha, tractor brakes are great for stopping bikes!@Gixer1460 its the Buell rim disc not a standard disc. If you have a read up on them they're not all that bad. Plus the single caliper is huge, 2 sets of pads and 8 pistons should do the trick. Quote

I think you've got your KG's confused with your lb's - no way is a Buell 880lbs!And at 440lbs its a bit lighter than a std GSXR - not a lot but you've added 10-15 kgs of turbo stuff! 1 Quote
Pd1987 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Loving this! And buell front end will look real good, people will be pointing at the front brake thinking your crazy Quote
Captain Chaos Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 those Buell front brakes are good, they will handle the turbo GSX-R no problem. A mate of mine has an XB12R and uses it hard on track days and stuff and never had any trouble. Quote
Fula28 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Sorry Gixer was taking the piss! Harley's are fairly heavy I know! Dan seen the w turbo at stus this am looking good matey! is your breather at lock up welded inside or screw in bung? Just susing man out at mo. Quote
Danm54 Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 @Fula28 Its the turbo oil drain, welded inside as I couldn't ruin a good looking cover with my ally welding!Going to see how it goes breather wise, may have to add another and I definitely need a catch can on the top one. 1 Quote
Fula28 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Thanks Dan, Hope Dyno goes well chap! And defo breather x2 you will need another breather need two on cases minimum -8 pref -10. These bigger turbo motors breath a lot. Quote
Danm54 Posted August 18, 2015 Author Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) Well, not heard anything from the dyno yet.I can only assume its being worked on and is going ok, will have to see if Stu can find out or give me a number to call to find out if its going ok.The top yoke came off the mill tonight, needs de-burring, clamp bolt holes drilled and tapped then anodising.Bottom Top Edited August 19, 2015 by Danm54 6 Quote
Danm54 Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 Done on a Bridgeport Interact series 2, think he's upgraded to a tnc 151 controller.Uses featurecam for designing and programming. Not a bad shed setup... Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Its sad - the 3 axis bits look soooo smooth and shiney - makes everything else look bad! Its not bad, bad, just looks rough if you know what I mean?My CNC mill is so small i'd have to turn that part around and do it in two halves - I have tool envy! Quote
Fula28 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Looks fresh that dan! Loving the whole front end are you keeping risers or clipons. Quote
