Looks in great condition. I don't think I've ever seen one before. Is it a V4?

Yes. There's also a 1200cc version.

Great bike, had the 700 and then a 1200, much like the v max and ZL the Madura's are great for nailing away from the traffic lights.

As for the knobs slagging it off, i imagine you all ride bikes that are perfectly designed.

Always thought a 1200 madura with gsxr 1100 high comp pistons and cutt down gsxr cylinder heads would ge amusing.

No such thing as 'perfectly designed'- there's always a trade-off or constraint somewhere .
