Jonny Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Hi, I have been looking to upgrade my Tokico 6-pots to Brembos but have never seen a set that bolt straight on, until I saw this picture, from a Busa on Eblag. The seller was a dealer and they were on the bike when he took it in as a p/x. Anyone know what they are off? I didn't think Brembo every made calipers with this spacing? Jon Quote
Dezza Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 They look like non-Brembo calipers with Brembo stickers on to me. 1 Quote

Captain Chaos Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 yes they look like Nissin 4-pots (Slingshot, Mk1 B12, etc.) with fancy paint and name. Quote
dupersunc Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Japanese market fj1200 had Brembos with that spacing iirc. But those arent Brembos on the bus. Quote

It reminds me of that strange rebranding practice I've seen offered where you can have your slingshot forks gold nitrated and anodised to give the impression they're Ohlins. Quote

fatblokeonbandit Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 (edited) But those 6 pots and the 4 pots are 90 mm spacing…. all the Brembos I have, the lettering is cast in and raised up, not painted on. Edited March 7, 2022 by fatblokeonbandit Quote

Most 'Dealers' know fuck all about the bikes they sell - if the brakes work is all they care about! As long as they don't say or describe them as Brembo's - get out of jail free - 'Caveat Emptor' applies - Buyer Beware! Quote

We all know a "go faster" sticker is worth another 10bhp. They look like a pair of tarted up Nissin calipers to me. What's more, they've made them worse by machining off the strengthening ribs. Doh !! Quote

Jonny Posted March 7, 2022 Author Posted March 7, 2022 Thanks for your comments. So the collective opinion seems to be they are 'tarted up' Nissins. Guess its back to plan A then... Quote

I resent that remark! - these were done 12-15 years ago and they weren't f**king cheap! 2 Quote

TJS Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Japanwebike sells a bracket for the Brembo brake conversion for about $400 for the pair. Quote
