Thank you. I wanted one of these in the early 80’s but was a skint Plumbing Apprentice. Love this bike and am going to do it up a bit. It needs a bit more poke.

if its like my bike (gs650) you have a tachometer cable that goes from ur tachometer to the engine, that could be broke theyre about $12 if its the same type

They had moved on from tractor technology by then, tacho's were electronic.

I can see that is very confusing and confronting to the shy newbies xD

Glad you love suzuki 's though (y)

If you scroll down the forum aircooled section you will find this thread with the info you need. Suzukis of this ilk use a black/yellow wire teed in between the cdi and coils to feed the tacho.

I've found the yellow and black wire from the CDI to my tachometer. It has a live feed right up to the tachometer. I take it it's the actual tacho that must now be defective as there's still no sign of life. Can these be repaired ?

Probably could - likely to cost more than buying another replacement! I did this with some gauge plastics - easier to buy whole cluster just for the clear plastic!

1127 or 1157 oil boiler will fit in that :tu

I keep looking into it and it seems a 750 is an easy fit but not so much the 11/12
