    My ET

    Another ET welcome to OSS
  2. Back home and cleaned the flies off then fitted this fork brace that I had knocking around in the shed
  3. Just stopped for a quick break on my way back home after a trip over to Lincolnshire to see @gsxr884 cheers Rich for sorting the suspension setup it's not trying to kill me anymore when I go through a bend or hit some bumps
  4. Cleans up nice and she don't look too bad in the sunshine to say she's 30 this year, still younger than me mind
  5. Suns out....slabs out Did 50 miles on the old girl today until the new chain got too loose so had to go home and adjust it,then had a beer while I sat in the sun and cleaned the wheels again
  6. Agree if you refresh them and get the right springs, oil etc they're fine.Use mine on the road and track days and it's not an issue, haven't done a TT lap at that pace though respect Other option is forks out of something more modern which will give you more adjustability, however even then you have to get the basics right first.
  7. Had the same issue on my slabbie carbs had been cleaned and rebuilt but when it was hot it cut out everytime I shut the throttle coming to a stop so turned up the tickover which compensated but eventually found issues with the coils(hairline cracks) changed them for dyna ones and never had the problem since, was even able to turn down the tick over again. Its all about working your way through and eliminating the obvious you will then eventually get it sorted although its damn frustrating when the suns out. Good luck hope you get it sorted
  8. Cracking job fitting it Dezza and disappointing that you have found no benefit from this mod, was watching in anticipation as I have the same need with my ET and a similar knackered wrist and as you say the mag made it sound like it was all good... I fitted a brand new cable recently but this was only slightly better, its also noticeably better after the annual oil change for a few weeks, but then returns to it's old self. Hope you get it sorted will be watching in hope for a good result that I can copy
  9. I know you can get an upgraded starter motor for the 1100 ET so assume it would fit the gs to, not tried it yet but am considering one for mine as the original one is on its last legs. They are on Eblag for around £225 think this must be a cheaper and a better option than OEM if they are still available
  10. I know mate just being necky and getting near the front of any queue forming Paul
  11. Went for a spin Sunday missus took a pic pre ride so thought I'd post it here, got back after a 40 mile ride took another pic and noticed the wonderful puff of oil smoke on tick over from the engine breather....should I be worried ,or is it normal when the breathers not routed back into the air box?
  12. So no jobs to do for now just get some miles on the old girl, treated her to a shine with some uber wax and a new tank full of super unleaded.Mot due in the next few weeks so should be good to go now. Considering the paint is 30 years old it came up quite well a few cracks in the tank lacquer and a bit of yellowing on some of the white decals but looks ok in the photo, still original which is ok for me
  13. Also found the new headlight seal I had put safe.... somewhere so whipped the light unit out and gave it a good clean then fitted the new seal and taped into place to let the adhesive set. Cleaned the plastic with washing up liquid in the sink and gave the chrome on the lights and the glass a good polish, came up good and look like new now.
  14. Another job that needed doing so sorted at last rebuilt clutch master cylinder and refreshed the fluids should have done this before now, but forgot I had bought a rebuild kit until I found it in the shed
  15. I've got the green ones on my ET and mounted them as @KATANAMANGLER said but also don't have any pics
  16. Depends which Dyna coils and bike you have, this is the fitment on my slabbie, these are Dyna mini series coils
  17. Thanks for sharing god bless OSS
  18. Well rapid, had the same experience last year at Cadwell when Brad Ray( now racing in BSB) came past me on his 600 like my engine had dropped out and I was going what I thought was pretty quick, soon puts your own abilities into perspective
  19. I'm looking for input and tech advice on supercharging an 1100et motor. Opinions, experience and all advice welcome. Won't be starting anything with this until early next year as I have my RGV to finish but want to start gathering the vast knowledge of OSS asap. Cheers
  20. Great link to lots of other useful manuals cheers
  21. Good to catch up with some of you Sunday, sun was out and the only downside was Mr Whitham not completing a lap on the Kat
