  1. That needs a psycho clown evil grin painting on the cooler, old dears out for a dawdle nice day out in the Nissan micra would shit themselves when that hoons up behind them
  2. Cheers @Dezza didn't know that about 1052 thought only 750/600 had the smaller rear mount still everyday is an old skool day
  3. Should Bolt straight in you may have to swap sump and pick up to clear exhaust and maybe the breather on the cam cover some are lower than others, mk1 b12 has better cams than mk2, gsx1100f is better than b12 of any year but you could always swap your gsxr cams in but you would need the cam sprockets from a b12 as the b12 is a hyvo type multi link chain
  4. As @TonyGee says it's a very personal thing tyre pressures ,for example I find Bridgestone tyres have a hard sidewall compared to metzlers,I'm a fat lad and will load a tyre more than a skinny bloke, best advise I can offer (and this is at your own risk)is keep a log of your lap times and settings ,and only make 1 change at a time and not more than say 2 psi at a time you want the tyre to heat up and grip but not be unstable If it's just a one off then just ride to your comfort level and enjoy the experience, keep an eye on the tyre condition and pressures when hot
  5. LMAO , like a lot of stuff you'll know after you've walked up to it a few times, either you'll not notice it or it'll jump out and poke you in the eye
  6. I believe it should be 12v through the Orange and green wire ,black and white is an earth and black and red to the cdi via the headlight ... Do you still have a headlight?
  7. Looking top drawer that is ,and clearance is clearance if it's close to the motor you've less to worry about with the front wheel
  8. One other thing to keep in mind is carb to tank clearance ,as the dot head intakes are angled upwards slightly compared with the std head if its close now it'll be closer after
  9. Excellent report @zedhead glad you got some silverware, I'm sure you'll be fettleing and perfecting your set up . interesting how some others were 5% more power,,and the class limit is 10% more, must be some donkeys to be found somewhere...maybe the OSS collective can help you figure where the buggers are. keep the updates coming
  10. Old faithful to the rescue
  11. I thought Norman Hyde was making them a little while ago so probably has the jigs, maybe they'd make a small batch to order if you air cooled chaps could organise something, just a thought
  12. Really glad you managed to get yourself sorted ,best of luck at brands, look forward to your face reports
  13. Gutted for you ,hopefully your insurance will pay you out ok don't accept their first offer if you've got pictures and receipts argue your point over its value ,and send adverts of what a replacement is going to cost On a plus side you can always replace it with a 750 or something else bigger than the 600 if you want to
  14. No argument here Clive ,as I say 1 bar boost makes your 1216 feel like 2432 ,so how much torque +hp does the scratcher have ? 250hp give or take and about 170 lb/ft give or take I'd reckon at 1 bar that would open your eyes and stretch yer arms
  15. Most people when they say they want more power, really mean they want more low end/midrange torque , a 600, IF you managed to tune it to 100 rwhp would be a peaky thing that has a power band like a light switch, on or off, a stock bandit 1200 motor, again 100 rwhp is a tsunami of grunty torque in comparison ,why because, hp is a mathematical construct of torque and rpm, and when it comes to torque there are generally 3 ways to get it :- rpm, 600cc rev it to the moon. ,edit: this doesn't make more torque only hp as this is a mathematical construct of torque and rpm Displacement bigger is better, Forced induction at 1 bar boost you try to double the capacity of an engine by packing 2 atmospheres of pressure in, instead of one atmosphere normally aspirated
  16. Cheers mate just had a quick Google,(oooh matron..) B12 comes in at 1430mm, teapot 750 at 1465mm though I believe the early 600s are 35mm or so shorter so you've done really well with your choice of swing arm to keep it decently short it should handle ok once you've got it set up to your taste
  17. Maybe you really want to keep the original style wheel , but surely it would be better to use say b6 wheels and get a better size for the front as well ?
  18. Jr9b is std gsxr plug so should work ,but now they run for a couple of minutes before dying off ? What coils are you using, do they get over hot?
  19. If it is arcing from the tip of the plug to the frame and not to the earth strap on the plug or any part of the plug body surely it is the plugs? Does it are from the body of the plug to the engine or frame if not in contact ? Maybe the insulation between the core and body is defective, you've tried the other plugs you have IN this bike not just arcing to the head, just double checking.
  20. Have you still got the old plugs ,or someone with the correct plugs in a running bike you could try swapping plugs with, just chucking an idea that maybe the new plugs are faulty in some way..did you get them from a reputable source as there has been counterfeit products on Eblag before now
  21. Me too,it was my first mk1 b12 that bought me here years ago, first on the old site as daz b12 then the intermediate one and this now one. I love em , my bike ownership has been through the bigger better best scenario and now I'm coming back to the bikes that gave me the most fun and enjoyment
  22. Your right there Clive , it's only when like you have the two images side by side that the similarities become apparent ,though the bandit frame looks to have more bracing up top compared to the xr69 has more at the bottom of frame rails . Thanks for finding the pictures
  23. The teapot must have been one of the earliest 4 stroke Suzukis with a beam 'type' frame then ,I can't remember one before it, rg250 was the earliest 2stroke I can remember from the big S

    Rupe

The later model teapots had a 4.5" rear I believe , a perfect size to fit a sticky 160/60/17
  25. Thanks for the replies guys, @wraith yes it was always in there with the 600 supersport tests in the magazines of the period . I don't think I'm a fast rider, in fact I know I'm not , but in the past when I've had my bandit 12 squirming around under me through fast corners I 've never known if it was frame or suspension and I'm not good enough to know, and this and looking at the frames themselves popped the question plus the early teapots are becoming more attractive for some reason..... Then comes the updated suspension, tyre question which puts more forces through the frame .... @Lachie04 interesting on the weights of both frames thanks for that
