  1. Yes complete transmission is removed, homemade drive system installed. The TL engine is just one of a few options. They are still in the early stages of designing a new boat, will be for 2018 probably.
  2. why do most of the pics look like computer renderings to me? Especially the Ohlins sticker on the front fork looks dodgy.
  3. The son of my friend is now European champion with his GSX-R1000 engined boat, he sold the boat and now they think about making a new one, using a TL1000 engine this time. Since the rules don't allow EFI (the GSX-R engine has a bank of Keihin Flatslides for this reason) he asked me what are the biggest available carbs suitable for this engine. I told him the VTR1000F has 48mm CV's, but surely there must be other carbs available? Anybody has any experience with carbs on a TL engine?
  4. obvious things first. Chain adjusted correctly?
  5. don't be stoopid, he said day to day use. That more or less rules out wheelie bars.
  6. nah... oil filler cap has 'use SAE 10W40' writen on it.
  7. SRAD is the only 750 to have a 6" rear.
  8. I agree with the pie-eater, it has only disadvantages. Don't do it just because the tyre was cheap.
  9. Clymer does not mention 17D42 either. You'll have to wait for Suzukis answer.
  10. just had a look in the service manual and 1 or 7 then D42 is not listed. Sorry dude I'll have a look in another manual (Clymer) tomorrow at work.
  11. start putting some input then, only 42 posts to go. Or send a PM to @fiberman
  12. fuck that. What he needs is www.proboost.fi and www.fastbyme.co.uk
  13. so the carbs' code is 17D42. I'll have a look in the service manual this evening and then I'll be able to tell you more.
  14. first find out what carbs you have exactly. On the left side of the left carb body there should be a code, 17D30 for example. With that code and the factory service manual (which I have here) we can find out what emulsion tubes and jets etc should be ordered.
  15. and I see here that the part no. of your new tubes is replaced by 09494-00675 (part 27).
  16. I have a set of 38's from a 750M (for parts), the code on the carbs is 17D30, and AFAIK the emulsion tubes are still original, with 1 X 1 and 3 X 2 holes. Code on the tubes is 64B and 0-B (I think, eyesight is slightly affected by beer consumption). Hole for the needle is the smaller one like on your new tubes.
  17. they are. 38's were only mounted on 750's, 1100's have 36's or 40's.
  18. powerjet, idle adj. cable, choke knob on carb bodies, 38mm, all the signs of being 750 L/M carbs. 750W has choke lever on handlebars. They could be from a USA bike in which case the jetting is completely different (127,5 main jets for example).
  19. spacer is for adding preload to the spring I guess
