  1. got mine sorted today, went to our local P.O. but the lass didn't know what to do so she phoned the head office. the prick on the phone said i couldn't do it till next year !!!! my bike is 41 years and 3 days since it was resisted. so went to the main P.O. and it was done in less than 90 seconds i said to the woman can i go home now and tax it ? she said no ive already done it bikes all legal now
  2. just think of all the work involved in taking a head off and putting it back on. you fire it up and a few miles down the road theirs a leak !!!!! is it worth the risk ? and be careful about the front oil drain tubes, they tend to leak sometimes form the top O ring. they are worth replacing as well BUT use OEM seals as they are an odd size.
  3. i know some reuse them, F.B.o.A.B. does and not had any problems, personally i would use a new one.
  4. just had a look on a parts diagram but it says pilot jets discontinued !!!!! so i couldn't find out the right size. what does your book say ?
  5. no idea, you need to get a manual to find the stock setup for your model.
  6. sometimes when a plug gets wet it wont spark again for some mad reason ?? have you got another set to try ?
  7. putting the standard airbox on with bigger jets will restrict the amount of air it needs and will run to rich. run it without the airfilter element and see if its better, sound like the jets are way to big for a standard airbox.
  8. are all 4 plugs the same ? are the jets and air filter all standard ?
  9. not on the ones i have !!! ive seen someone on the net who rebuilt a set and had to re'gas them.
  10. have you checked the pilot circuit drillings ? the pilot jet might look clean but if theirs a bit of crap in one or more of the drilled holes then its the same as a blocked jet.
  11. yeah i have a set of piggy backs on my zuma and they seem to work ok, also had them on another big bike i built. ok they are fecking cheap Chinese crap but for £40 its no big loss especially as the OEM ones are rusty and leaking. they do look good though their are a few reviews on them on the net and most say for what they are their ok, they are fully rebuildable as well. if you are on (like me) a very tight budget then they are usable till you can afford a good set.
  12. the swinger is a 1200 bandit arm, i had to use a reducer spacer to fit it as the ET has a 14mm spindle and the bandit has a 20mm spindle. the wheel is also B12 as i wanted the fat tyre look but a 600 wheel would be a bit easier to fit for chain alignment. i had to fit an offset front sprocket to get the chain to line up. the forks are gsxr1100 and getting very hard to find in good nick, if you do find some they are NOT cheap !!!!!! it all sounds easy but it takes a bit of work to get it all together.
  13. some of the old school Suzuki's look well with more modern parts fitted, but its not just about the look, my ET with the bandit wheels and gsxr forks makes it handle and grip better and also stop better. im using 22 years old parts so they arnt really that modern !!!!! I'd like to think if they made the ET today it would look something like this.....
  14. yeah ive got bandit switch gears on my ET, sorry havn't got a diagram to do it, i just followed both bikes diagrams from the manuals.
  15. ive always done it from the gasket face, (no gasket)
  16. bang on, its fecking brilliant for looking into small jets and drillings.
  17. i use one of these, cheap as chips but work really good. i got this one given but they are plentiful on the bay.
  18. the coils on the zuma are the same as the bandits, in all my years owning bandits and also working on them ive never had to change a coil !!! they are normally pretty reliable. sometimes you can feel the tip of the mixture screw poking out into the bore of the carb, also if the screws where all at different settings i wonder if the P.O. used a colour tune ? setting all the screws exactly the same doesn't mean its perfect to each carb.
  19. what are the plugs doing ? are they getting wet or black and sooty ? a sign of an over rich mixture caused by leaking float valves.
  20. keep trying it, im sure it'll burst into life eventually.
  21. you might have problems with the chain with a 190 tyre ? i have a B12 rear wheel and swinger in my 750ET and the chain is close to the frame and 180 tyre. if you cut out the frame and weld a flat in it you will get more room.
  22. its a bit of a strange one wraith, petrol shouldn't kill a spark plug ! should it ?
