  1. sounds odd ???? it should be a vacuum tap unless someone has fucked around with it !!! can you post a pic ?
  2. if they are the ones with the antidive then no one will want them unless someone is doing a resto. ive got a set i dont want.
  3. did you throw a few swear words in as well ? always helps
  4. yep just like the GSXR fighter i built in the 90's only their for show ps, you forgot the twin headlights
  5. ive seen lads put the ZX12 callipers on busa's
  6. I put some on my old GSXR1100 years ago just for the look, no oil went through them though
  7. can't say ive ever had a problem with a worn seat as a new valve fixes the issue. but ive heard of people using some sort of abrasive or cutting tool to clean up the edges of the hole in the seat. might be worth a try ?
  8. are you sure the seats are worn ? the needle (float) valve has a rubber tip so generally its the tip that wears not the seat. have the carbs done a lot of miles ?
  9. the name just come to me, "Tourmax" their made in Japan. Ive used them a few times with no problem so far !!!!!
  10. we know OEM are probably the best if you can afford them but their are some after market Japanese made parts that seem to be ok, but cant remember the name of them right now
  11. feck thats a strange one !!!! is their any chance you have picked up some dodgy petrol and the valve tips have some crap on them ?

  13. yeah your probably right, plusgas and acetone is a good combination with a little help from a heat gun.

    Fuel leak if...

no carbs should leak !!!!!! nice job on the tank
  16. it could be the float valve tips are slightly worn and weeping a wee bit, or maybe the O ring on the valve seat. ive seen the O rings go hard over time and start to crack.
  17. yeah they are, now where's my stamps
  18. yes the oil will piss, but if you lay the forks flat then you can remove the unit, you could get a re-build kit from Suzuki once but they are no longer available unless theirs an aftermarket kit out their
  19. yeah thats what I did, but I just wanted to remove the whole unit off the forks.
  20. old thread resurrected, I did an experiment on my old GSXR1100 forks, took the anti dive off and made 2 blanking plates out of ally ( using a hacksaw a file and a drill ) with no channel to link the 2 oil holes in the blanking plate the forks just lock up solid, so you MUST link the 2 holes in the bottom of the forks.
  21. does the 550 switch have a park position ? if so you won't need them 2 wires. basically you have a live wire up to the ign switch and with the switch in the ON position you should have live coming out of the switch. thats how my 750 is wired
  22. Just throw a big M on the side and be done
  23. yeah as wraith says, you won't go anywhere without the igniter box (CDI)
  24. when i built my Katzuma i put the engine in the frame, then i found a standard airbox, but when i come to fit it, their was no way it was going on !!!!!! luckily i only had the engine in the frame at the time
