is it worth doing a compression test wraith ? just to rule out the engine
  2. yes it is under the engine cover.
  3. its the coil that lives under the right engine cover, it sends an ignition signal to the CDI.

the bandit's suffer with an earthing problem sometimes as well, its normally the spade connector on the thickish wire thats connected to the main battery earth, causes some weird shit
  6. looks like gs750 up to gsx1100 they are 350mm so its defo looking like its off a smaller bike.
  7. yep thats what im thinking !!!! I know the gsx750 and gsx1100 are the same, so i would of thought the gs1000 would be very similar ??????
  8. I think i'd go with a sleeve on the 1100 engine. then the frame is still standard.
  9. are you sure the exhaust is for a GS1000 ? from the pic's it looks more like a GS550 !!!!!
  10. so if ive read it right ??????? they are out about 10mm ish ? if thats all then i'd be doing a bit of pulling and pushing to get them lined up. done this before with no issue. I tried a set of bandit headers on my GSX750 and needed to pull the pipes in a bit to get them in the ports but the collector didn't clear the sump
  11. its ok guys, ive spoke to my mate and he'll be off back to work soon for another month , so he'll take the ones I made and give em to his mate who'll make em out of stainless.
  12. cheers Ivan, I'll let him know
  13. My mate is looking for the 2 mudguard brackets for a set of gsxr slingshot USD's. Does anyone know if their avalable any where ? Ive made him some out of ally for now. But if not i'll get some steel and make another pair.
  14. if you put a volt meter on to the starter wire bolt and see if you get full battery voltage, if not its the starter relay or a bad connection.
  15. the mk2 uses a speed sensor on the front sprocket cover as the clocks are electronic, but the mk2 wheel has the cut out notches so you can use a mk1 speedo drive
  16. always better if you can make the bits you need than buying them if you can, doesn't matter if they are better or not , its the personal touch
  17. are you using a speedo drive ? it should fit ok !!!! I did it the other way round (mk1 forks mk2 wheel)
  18. Yeah the 1100/1200 are about 15mm taller than a 600.

    Efe wheels

what about early GSXR 3 spoke wheels ? 18inch. like this
  20. I couldn't help myself when i had the bandit and the katzuma i built but the ET 1100 is a tad longer and quit a bit heavier so not so much
  21. wheelies are not big and not clever
  22. ive swapped the exhaust systems over on my GSX1100 and GSX750 with no problems, maybe just a slight mod to the hanger.
