  1. ive had 6 bandits and worked on countless others and the vast majority where a bit on the rattley side !!!! saying that ive heard others that where quiet.
  2. you can always tell a bandit engine by its valve rattle
  3. as I said earlier i would go with 600 bandit wheels as their not as wide as GSXR/1200 bandit and ive done it so i know they will be easier to fit. the bandit speedo drive will need skimming down a bit but saying that their are thinner drives on other makes of bike that could be used, but you would have to sort out one with the right ratio !!!!
  4. its a tricky job as the clocks are sealed, you have to peel back the edge of the rim to split the clocks, ive seen the faces on bgay.
  5. or has it been in the rain and water has got into the tank ?
  6. I'd be checking the airbox if it has one ? found a rag in a customers airbox once must learn to read better !!!! it hasn't got an airbox
  7. are the plugs getting wet ?
  8. fit new plugs
  9. my thoughts are if it was a totally standard motor then maybe I'd be happy with it but it would always be on my mind !!!!!! on a tuned motor with a turbo I'd be looking for another head. yeah im probably paranoid
  10. glad your going for it your bike will look/handle and brake better than it ever did and don't forget lots of pic's and questions
  11. rear wheel will need a bit of work as well, you need wheel/disc/sprocket carrier/brake calliper and hanger. plus spacers. think the axle is the same size. they have a 150 tyre so should fit in the swingarm. problem is the sprockets won't line up !!!!!! I had to get the sprocket carrier machined down and space out the front sprocket. as you can see modifying these old bikes can be a bit of a challenge !!! but if it floats your boat its great fun,
  12. I didn't have or use a bandit axle, don't think it will work because of the shape !!! i already had a spindle the right size and long enough, if I remember right its 19mm diameter ???? can't remember what it was off it was just in a pile of bits in me shed !!!!! are you gona fit a B6 rear wheel to match ?
  13. I could be wrong but I thought the 750 and 1100 forks where the same diameter ??? yeah the bearings in the bandit 600 where the original ones.
  14. yeah but i feel much older
  15. spindle is the axle bolt that fitted the B600 bearings. I found a collar (spacer) that fitted the axle and fitted in the lower fork clamps as the clamps are a removable part held in place by 2 bolts. the speedo drive was too wide and pushed the wheel over to the right and off centre, so I got it turned down a few mm so the wheel sat dead centre in the forks. so basically 2 spacers are held in place at the bottom of the forks by the clamps, then a spindle (axle) slides right through and held in place with a nut. hope that makes sense ? im 60 so your not the only oldie round here
  16. no, the forks are off a GSX1100 (pretty much the same) but the wheel is a mk1 600 bandit. i used a spindle that fitted the B6 wheel bearings and used a collar in the bottom of the forks (held in place by the 2 fork clamps) I had the speedo drive turned down a few mm and made a spacer to fit the other side to get the wheel in the middle. the callipers where also off a GSX11 that i already had and made a bracket so they lined up with the B6 disc's. this is the finished bike before i sold it.
  17. this was a mix of bits I had lying around, GS750 frame GSX750 engine and GSX1100 swinger and forks. I used bandit 600 wheels (same as other mid range Suzuki's) a little bit of a squeeze but doable !!!! the disc's where about 3mm from the fork legs but the main thing is they cleared.
  18. I guess the bandit didn't sell as good as it did in Europe ??? if you just want a better tyre choice then you could fit a wheel of something like a bandit 600 or something ? not quite as wide as a B12 but plenty of tyre choice. i did that on one of my projects.
  19. the bandit front end i imagine will be pretty cheap over your way ??? i have a bunch of guitars too but nothing special
  20. if it is because it was upside down it'll eventually burn off.
  21. up to 1999 mk1 1200 bandit has a speedo drive, and whats a fender guitar got to do with it ????
  22. no but it doesn't mean you cant fit one
  23. the mk1 and mk2 forks are similar but up to 99 the mudguard is bolted to the fork brace (bracket) with top mounts, the mk2 has a more conventional mudguard mounts on the side of the legs. also the calliper mount holes are different. decent enough forks though.
  24. are you sure you can press the stem out ? im pretty sure all of them are a steel yoke and the stem is welded in !!! unless its an ally yoke ?
  25. not sure of the price ? whats that in ££££ but the more modern USD are pretty short compared to your forks so the bike will do a nose dive !!!! the forks off the GSXR1100 1990-93ish are the longest but getting harder to find in good nick.
