    new exhaust

    Very nice bike.
  5. You can use the needles out of gsxf/gsxr clocks, have a look on eb*y for some fu*ked clocks and use the needles out of them
  6. Welcome and a good day to day ride, love the streetfighter/rat go faster top box ;)

    Lucky Me

Happy birthday, is it on the road yet? :)
  10. I've got the old Z type on my GS1000 and it works very well, you can get them with twin spots as well.
  11. Welcome the OSS, As to your paint what about gloss black but with the GSX1100et 3 blue lines ?
  12. PS. I do have a set of GSX1100efe forks with progresive springs and yokes and callipers which will be up for sale
  13. The GSX1100 750 Kat and GS1000 are all 37mm. I think for a 35mm fork you will be needing to be looking at GS750,GS650. Or you could put the 37mm yokes on your 750 and then put the 37mm forks on.
  14. Nice one, one more oldskool back on the road :)

    Wheels!?

It's up to you what you like. Have a good look around the site/net and you will find pics of both types. As you say with gsxr/bandit wheels etc you get better brakes etc. Until you're pushing the bike you won't notice any better response with later forks over standards - imho. In some ways the wider the rear wheel the slower it will dip into the bends, but when you're in the bend it feels more stable than it does with a standard size wheel.
  16. Well go on then put us all out of are misery and tell us how much to make one LOL
  17. I did a 180 rear on a GS1000 using a GSXR750wr swing arm and putting a 520 chain and sprockets on had no problems, you can bring the chain in a bit by using a gsx1100f or gs500 sprocket carrier on the gsxr rear wheel (slingshot wheel that is)
  18. Cheers all. Just got the MOT with no problems and runs very well :) The gearing is a bit out with the NTV shaft (but knew this from before.) In top gear it's doing 3500rpm at 70mph and yes with the 1100cc kit and ported head and 34mm gsxr carbs it still picks its feet up ;) Not as fast as the chain drive GS1000 I have on the take off but for a day to day ride the GSG is going to do the job very nicly :)
  19. I've built it like this so I can use it all year round and take the GS1000 chain drive off the road and give that a good revamp with a tuned motor in it as well
  20. Keep it up as you say it's all very good info
  21. At what revs is it doing what? e.g. : How far is it reving to, and then what happens? Is this consistent? Will it rev through or does it stutter or just die straight away? (If it revs above 3000rpm, ish, I'd think it wasn't the ATU but fuel/air or overall bad running.) Will it tick over ok? Is it running well at tick-over and low revs? What happens if you can leave it ticking over for a while? Is it doing it just when hot or cold? Does it change when warmer? Other thoughts: Is there a good spark on all 4 and are all 4 zorst down pipes getting hot equally? Is the fuel filter/gauze in the tank clean at the tap and does it have an inline fuel fillter which could be blocked/dirty? What colour are the plugs and are they dry or wet? (are they in good nick and correct gaps?) Is the vent hole in the tank cap clear? (Is it a standard cap?) Is the air filter clean? Are the HT leads good and have sound connections (check for earthing out, sparking/smoking with Duck Oil, etc)? - and so on. Could be a lot of things. Check the obvious and then if no joy try to describe exactly wht the symptoms are and when, etc. Also, when exactly did they start and what had you just done (or not)... How was it running before this problem started and did it just start or has it got worse over time? Good luck ;-)
  22. This is what it did look like years ago but wanted something looking more standard and I've ad this bike for over 20 years
