    Welcome to OS's☺
  2. Hi and welcome to OS's☺ you can put a b6 or the 4.5" gsxr rear wheel in the gsx swing arm, the b12 yoke stems are longer than the rest of Suzi ones but can be done or put a gsxr front end in as same stems and berrings.
  3. Not done it myself, but I would think using the standard top end and carbs with the 750 barrels I'd think you would get 90-100bhp but thats a gess. And if you think a standander B12 puts out just over 100bhp and a good gsxr1100 120bhp at the rear wheel
  4. Good idea on the forks, but you know the yoke stem is longer in the B6 and B12 so if you're looking at doing a fork swap then unless you can get some GSXR forks that fit your yokes you will need to have the stem alterd and sort out the lock stops. I've got a set of B6 forks on my GS1000 with GSX600F Progressive fork spings in them. Even with the extra weight with the GS1000 motor they work fine. There are lots of poeple who have converted B6/B12 using USD forks so they will be out there ready to go.

    new exhaust

Nice zorst. The missis just made me larff as I've just put some window covers on the GSXF Kat, and she's just said "Oh look, he's got a washing machine clutch cover as well"... LOL.
  6. PS. If you want a bigger front wheel to fit a 120/70/17 instead of the 110/70/17 you can use an RF600 front wheel as it gose straight in useing the B6 discs the lot ;) straight swop.
  7. The good bits are, the GSXF/GSXR 750 will go straight into a B6 frame with no mods needed, the B6 zorst will fit the 750 motor, all the electrics will fit/plug in the 750 motors and the B6 black box(cdi) works on the 750 motors. Bad bits you could use the B6 carbs but will not be very good, so use the 750 carbs but they will not fit the airbox so pod type fillters will be needed, B6 oilcooler will work but best to use the 750 one or after market one but they will be £££ as you will need lines as well. Hope this helps.
  8. Been in the shed tonight and swapped the slave cylinders over - i.e put the 35mm diam piston one on - and it works a treat. Has given me approx. 5-10mm more on the bite when you let the handlebar lever out. I can now put the lever in, the bike is not wanting to crawl forward and the clutch is engaging properly. Much joy :-)
  9. The gsx750f are 748cc and have a softer cam - i.e. not as revvy but more low to mid power - whereas the gsxr750 motors are mostly 749cc apart for the j/k models (I think) which are 748cc. Also the gsxr motors have a hotter cam for more revs and top end power. That's the basic some one will come along and tell you even more I will think. You should get a gsxr or gsxf 750 motor for anything for £150-£250 or over - just have a look around on flea bay ;) if you get something as a package, the carbs are what will cost you an arm and a leg (£100+). So I'd look out for a crash-damaged bike and then sell off the bits you don't need/want.
  10. Cheers, Tried Robinsons, but the man I spoke to had just come from working at Ducati and did not know his way round a Suzuki so was not much help! Have ordered stuff from them in the past and they are usually good and lots of help, but have spoken to this man 3 times over the last 6 or so months and 2 of my orders have had to be re-sent as they came wrong. He is getting better... :)
  11. Cheers, I don't know where I may have got that one from as the only oil -cooled motors I've had are gsxr750, gsx750f, gsxr1052 and the 1127. May have come with one of the job lots at some point over the years? :) Is there any other way of ID-ing them?
  12. I've got 2 oilcool motor clutch slave cylinders and I don't know what there off, one has a 38mm piston and the other has a 35mm piston. Has anybody got any ideas what there off? I can then put new seals in them, well one of them for the time being. Cheers
  13. Kwak GT550/Z550/GPZ550 will go on without to much messing at the head end, end can end needs more work but can be done.
  14. Hi and welcome to OSS Steve. I did not think the 1100 top end will work/go on the B6 (Bandit 600) bottom end, I've heard people putting a 750 top end on the B6 bottom end, but the price of GSXR750 and GSX750F motors I'd just get one of them. Mate just got off that site a rightoff GSX750F complet motor carbs and all the electrics and zorst all still in frame for £170 Bargin but they are out there just keep looking.
  15. The line is a new Goodridge. And the fluid is clean and dry as I only re-bled it a week ago. The push rod I have fitted is 91mm. I do have another one, but that is only 82mm long. Does anybody know what the standard push rod length should be and if there's a longer rod (and off what make/model) or another fix/get round/bodge to make it longer? (I'm having a vague recollection about putting some washers into Mrs W's bike's clutch now that I'm thinking about it - so I am wondering if there is someting going on vis a vis the master cylinder? But then again, I am also now recalling that I originally had GXSR M/Cyls on mine and still had the clutch bite point issue...) I don't know what the slave cylinder is off, except a GSXR1100/750 (or other oilcooled motor?? ). The piston in the slave that I'm using is 38mm diam. I do have a spare one which has a 35mm diam piston. I was wondering whether, being a smaller and presumably lighter piston, using this one would allow the hydraulic fluid to exert more overall end pushing effect onto the rod/clutch, if that makes sense? Any more ideas/comments welcomed.... One other thing - I don't know what either of the above slave cylinders are off, apart from an oilcooled motor. Has anybody any idea what they could be, as I'd like to put new seals in the 35mm one if I'm going to use it (it's been sat in the shed for a good long time). Cheers.
  16. I don't know will have a look and post, cheers for the repliy
  17. Hi all, Just re-bled the clutch on the GSXF Kat and, as usual, the bite is right in at the handlebar (i.e.it's already trying to engage drive as soon as you've got it in gear, even with the clutch pulled right in). When you select a gear from neutral it goes in with a right clunk. It's rideable, just annoying, 'specially in traffic/lots clutch slipping/slow riding. The clutch (GSXF 1127) has new OEM steel and friction plates and H/D springs. The master cylinder is a ZX9R type, and the cylinder and push rod (engine side) are GSXR, I think (but not sure what model/cc size, 750 or 1100), It's always been like it since I first built the engine, really. I haven't found any difference with the recent clutch plates/springs nor a couple of years ago when I changed burnt-out plates for new ones. Presumably, the clutch isn't quite fully disengaging, but I can't figure out why. So, questions/thoughts: Are there different lengths of clutch push rods? Could the GSXR (1100 or 750) push rod and/or piston be a different size or strength or size in some way to the GSXF one and therefore be forcing the bite point all the way in or otherwise doing someting annoying or failing to do something which they should? Can anyone think of any other reason which might be causing it? I know that the Missis's clutch on her GSXR1127 is not as far in, and that's got a ZX9R master cylinder but I think otherwise all original clutch parts. Mind you, she does also say that hers can be clunky going into gear and complains that the bite point is a lot further in than she would like it and that if she adjusts her lever to where she wants it she gets the same 'creep' forward on the clutch at start off. Cheers. Cheers all.
  18. I've got a GSXR1100K front end with the GSXR speedo drive on my Kat with the standard Kat clocks (it's not a Kat without the Kat clocks - LOL) and they're not that far out. Riding next to the car and the clocks read 55mph and the car is 50mph. I know this gap will increase the higher the speed, but as said, you are the right side for the cops ;)
  19. A bit late, but the GSX1100F (1127cc power screen) will do the job.
  20. The GSXR looks like the GSXR1100K 1992 (I think) I may be wrong but I thort the GSXR swing arm went in the GS1000 frame ok just needs new top hats making? To get more room on the chain part you can put a GS500 (twin) sprocket carrer on the GSXR wheel and that gives you more room. The bigest problem you will have is the chain next to the frame and keeping it all in line, it can be done it's just taking your time and a bit of in and out with the back wheel. I'm using the same forks on my Kat but I've got GSXR750 WR rear end. this is my kat
