  1. For the bottom spacer in a 7/11 I had, I made an adjustable spacer out of a big bolt and sleeve. Engine stud goes through it, as per normal, spacer opened out to remove all free play, tighten locknut. Seemples!
  2. Forgot you'd just scored yourself the 1100! From Alpha Sports fische. Top right @ 46mm Top left @ 59mm Bottom right @ 27mm Hope that helps!

    Hey

Hey riffer. So I see! Away for a look, right now. Post amended to suit!

    Hey

@FixitHow's the project going, mate? Get some pictures up (or it didn't happen).
  5. I measured mine before I took them out. I'll see if I can find them. We are talking 750 here, aren't we?
  6. Curiosity killed the cat! I just had to dig mine out and look! I thought the Airbox mounts for the brackets were a 'squared off' housing that the brackets fitted 'into'. Not so! The brkts can be fitted either way! If you look closely at Si's 'fische', you'll see the rounded ends of the brackets go to the frame.
  7. Are those front brackets not 'squared off' to fit into the Airbox housings? That long since I've seen mine!
  8. Wait 'till it's time to put the carbs on!
  9. @wsn03 Can you measure the foam packing on your Airbox for me? Mine's gone 'walkabout'! (L x D x W).
  10. Hi Aymen. Welcome to OSS. As Spirit says, try an alternative unit. You never know. Or, try ordering one from UK breaker?
  11. Just measured the leg centres on my '85F model @ 205mm. I've a feeling the 1100's legs may be slightly wider spaced. Then ... what about the offset? Are they the same?
  12. ET's still rule, then! God knows what it's cost to get it to that stage! Gotta be worth it though, to show those 'Busa' drivers how it's done!
  13. Doubt it! Different part no's!
  14. Sort the locating peg out with a ball bearing down the hole. That will take some of the load off the bolts. All the above mods will help too!
  15. UN-crimp the bezel a little at a time, so's not to deform it. Go around at least half a dozen times, if need be. If you have a replacement needle, ease the old needle off its pin by using two teaspoons opposite each other as levers. Replace new needle carefully. And, as they say, 'Robert's your Mothers Brother! Simples!
  16. Sounds great! It's turned out well!
  17. Everything you mention is pretty much a straight swap. Front and rear ends go in easily. Don't know about the Mk2 calipers being any worse than the Mk 1's. The 1200 engine should go straight in the frame, if you're thinking about more power. The Mk 1 does, so I can't see the later engine causing any problems. Don't use the std rear shock. Later GSXR models are an improvement. FBOAB will be along shortly to specify, and ... welcome to OSS!
  18. Surprised no spares, Rick! Have a good look at the rollers then. If all looks serviceable, re-fit & Loctite it to specs. Loose bolt might have been your problem all along.
  19. Rebuild it, Rick. The rollers get 'threepenny bitted' with age, so a s/h one may be no better than the one you have. Everything will be available as a spare. Just watch out for the small springs getting airborne!
  20. Make sure you get the old stock type with the red label, rather than the 'new improved' shit with the yellow label.
  21. Try running some YamahaCarbCleaner thru' the carbs. Works wonders. Follow the destructions to the letter. Has been known to fettle carbs after 15 yr lay ups! Try it.
