  1. Good sound advice! Yet hardly any of us (apart from those adhering to race regs) even consider up-rating our std front end set-up.
  2. Looks like the PO cropped the pillion part of the left hand hanger off, more likely.
  3. @inazumarobThe piece directly below the TSCC emblem on the cam cover. Did you buy the bike in boxes, by any chance? Might have been a modification by the PO?
  4. What's the black piece next to the footrest hangers? Not familiar. Unless it's a cut off piece of hanger? What's it's use?
  5. There was a Harris up there ... until it was kidnapped by clivegto!
  6. So, the answer would be .... anything you fancy! Welcome to OSS!
  7. There you go! I had to come up and tuck them in! 45mm at its widest point, 25mm at narrowest. Stands off frame 20mm at widest point. Picture of his little roomies!
  8. Once seen ... never forgotten! @wsn03give me a hoist if you need more pictures!
  9. No probs. post it tomorrow. Bare frame in bedroom.
  10. Leading axle air forks. GSX750/1100 ET/EX? Early GS1000? Could be anything. if you can see numbers on the seals, try a bearing factor? P
  11. @billdYours is approx. 1000 units older than mine! Very early!
  12. Well, I'll go through the carbs when I strip them for the 'fizzy bath'. All else, as it comes up. Thanks for the 'heads up'!
  13. Just smear them all with petrol. They'll slide in nicely, petrol will evaporate. No sticky goo to attract dust.
  14. Ah, you're just too late! Crushed it last week ... As if! Actually, it's in not bad fettle. Could do with the dent in the heat shield taken out. The clocks are now UK spec. I'd have thought any restrictions would be in carb size (mine's 29's), or Ignitor box. Bonus if that's all there was. Emailed DVLA this morning. Not expecting much, except that brightly coloured thin stuff, (red tape)!!!
  15. I'll get onto DVLA and ask if it can be changed. If so, I'll email VJMC for dating cert.

    oil leak!

Only way to go! Eliminate one thing before moving on to another. You'll sort it!
  17. It's been in the UK for the last 20 yrs. I'm assuming it would have been restricted for the Japanese home market? I'm also assuming, due to the length of time its been in the UK, someone's already de-restricted it. If not, how would it differ from UK spec? Carbs, ignition ect?
  18. Ah well, better luck next time then!
  19. @Lachie04Suzukitech site confirms 1985. Thanks for that! Now, to try and get DVLA to change date on V5!

    Gsx750es

If he's having chain clearance problems, he'd be far better off sourcing an 1100 ET/Katana arm. B6 wheel fits with minimum fuss!
  21. RF900 forks have more adjustment than Bandits. May be found cheaper, too! Engine paint? Satin Black, Gloss ect. Up to what you want. Rattle cans are fine. Why pay a pro? Remember ... the more time you take in the prep, the better the end result!
  22. Right! JDM was GR71, UK GR75 and so on.
