Great ! Thanks a bunch that gives me food for thought on this project i'm looking into
-
Oh and also what would the diameter be on the big end side ? Can't seem to find a definitive answer
-
Haha. No worries. I have a set of Carillo rods on the shelf but for this i need stock rod size 1127 although if 1052 is also a 20 mil pin i could use the info too

Hello Does someone happen to have a set of GSXR 1100 rods on the bench ? I'd like to know what the outer diameter of the small end is. I know the piston pins are 20mm. Thanks
-
Also did a GSXR 250 with that WC engine and it does 45HP with a 17000 rpm redline, which all things considered must be quite a whip of an engine

It's a stainless system with bolt on flanges, not much there to fail
-
Blackwidow on their website only says that their R&D is based in UK, doesn't state where production is.
-
They are (asian made?) close copies of Akrapovic systems. Good quality for the money

Well RS 36 sound like a good idea ? Otherwise do air and oil cooled racks not have the same spacing, if ever oil cooled carbs provide something extra over stock ?
-
3.5 on the front sounds unlikely ?

Hey it's not because you couldn't do it that it can't be done But seeing thats its over £300 for a pair of stanchions from brooks, then you've got the seal and bush kit that you will want to buy OEM, it would be more cost effective to fit a K fork than do a full rebuild of the crap that they came with back in the day. K forks even fit in the stock yokes
-
If you're replacing the chrome tubes it makes it a bit easier because you don't have to worry about buggering them up Foot in a vice, heat on the threaded area, screwdriver through stanchion hole with extension lever, it should come quite ok I've done a couple of USD forks like this https://youtu.be/wADxhvP40Rw

The stock bandit header actually is known to fall apart, it rusts out and snaps where the link pipe goes on.
-
Should be a very snug slide into the bronze bush bit i think ?
-
The thing fits together and works fine off the bike. And indeed it does have a nice feel (10 times better than the Motion Pro bullshit on my 11) If i manage to work it out i'll post about it

I see what you mean but looks like both halves match properly off the bar, it's only 2 bits of alloy and a plastic tube, and unless Domino fabricates with very iffy tolerances they must be able to have consistency in what they make ? Can't see any traces of dings or deformation either
-
Yep its as if the QA body is too small in diameter compared to the bar, i'm guessing there must be something not right with the bits combo i have at hand
-
Talking of Domino QA, any idea why this one i got second hand fits like this (as in, doesn't fit) ? Tube is 22, QA measures at 22

Could an air leak a culprit in view of the symptoms ? What state are your inlet boots in ?

Fwiw i have the out of the box RS38 jetting on a 1216+cams and plugs have always been the proverbial milk coffee coloured Float heights were also off on mine out of the box and needed adjusting
