Captain Chaos Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 Never had a B12 stem in my hands but I read everywhere that it's longer than a Slingy one. I could be wrong of course Quote

Not with a slingy stem you didnt, the bandit 6 and 1200 stems are about 20mm longefR Than a slingy one , i have sevseal of both in the shed i can measure. All of the 20 or so usd slingy front ends ive fitted to bandits have had stem change Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 slingshot on the left bandit on the right Quote
nlovien Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 agreed ref: load - its not the rotation - its getting the bearings to seat common to each other - if the c/l is off there will be a tendency to force a small twist - not an issue ref: stem but will be one ref: the feel of the steering 1 Quote
vizman Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 most people* only check their tyre pressures once a year so getting stuff within a 'thou' is pish. *i'm kidding Quote
nlovien Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 its a good point vizman - basically horses for courses - each and every build has its purpose and use - what can add value to one can be wasted effort on another - key point is to not apply the wrong approach to meet the purpose Quote

Swirl Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Why even bother with a cut and shut, just replace it with a longer stem easy peasy Quote
