clivegto Posted December 2 Posted December 2 (edited) 2 seasons riding the Harris and taking it to a few shows with the Oldsckoolsuzuki Crew now so thought it was time for a few little winter upgrades. First on the list was the wheels which are a standard gsxr1000 bronze in satin from new witj a few scratches which had been bugging me. Took the wheels out last week popped the tyres n discs off then removed the cast lettering from the spokes. Dropped them of on Friday at RAW coatings near York who to my surprise rang me up today to say they were ready so of I went to pick them up. Am well chuffed with the finish and only 48 quids per wheel. Edited December 2 by clivegto 5 Quote

jonny1bump Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Getting the wheels super smooth is quite time consuming job. Quote
clivegto Posted December 3 Posted December 3 Second thing that had been bugging me was the anodising fading on the front brake reservoir and the clutch one too. I ordered a pair of AEM factory titanium integrated reservoirs to fit the Brembo RCS. Bit pricey but there lovely . I'v also ordered a pair of Metzler roadtec SE01's for the wheels as well. 4 Quote

clivegto Posted December 10 Posted December 10 Christmas has definitely come early for the Harris . Brembo Gp4-Rs calipers arrived today as well as the light weight rear disc I'd ordered 5 Quote
clivegto Posted December 10 Posted December 10 Fitted the back disc then fitted the wheels back into the bike. Tried the new calipers on for size and it looks like I need to make some spacers twice the size I had for the R1 calipers. 4 Quote

It's so the pad doesn't wear tapered. the trailing pad material runs hotter so wears more quickly, which is why you normally have different size pistons on multi piston calipers. Brembo either got their piston sizes wrong, or more likely realised the calipers would be cheaper to produce with one size piston and off set the pad material instead. 2 Quote
clivegto Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Well that's a bit bizarre there isn't a set of pads between all 4 there all the same Quote

clivegto Posted December 13 Posted December 13 So I messaged the seller about the pads and they say that's how they come from brembo even the 3 grand one's are the same. Quote
imago Posted December 13 Posted December 13 (edited) It's nothing more than supposition, but maybe it's an update? Reversed on the outer side of the calliper for balance as that would get more air flow and therefore run cooler than the inner? So that way it would keep both pads at the same temp for balanced wear and braking. Edited December 13 by imago Quote
