clivegto Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 So after 3178 miles the Magnum has developed a misfire when getting excited with the acceleration like fuel starvation, maybe I'm riding it faster now I've got used to it . Anyway I've swapped the fuel filter for a new one and turned the fuel pressure regulator up a bit . Noticed one of the seat units lugs had cracked so stuck it back together with MEK Abs mix. All back together and read to rock n roll again 4 Quote
Graeme Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 Bike looks ace! Can I ask how you have the headlights set up. You said one for low beam, one for high. But the lense for low beam won't dip will it? Did the tester care? Not really sure what the deal is legally, but am wanting to fit something similar to yours. Quote

Left one just point's down to the left and there wired up with am extra switch so I can have them both on full beam and 1 on dip it also has a large led running light mounted under the spots and no my tester don't care that much Quote
clivegto Posted January 2 Posted January 2 (edited) Brought the Magnum inside to give it a wipe over with an oily rag before I take it to Newark bike show at the weekend, it's replaced the Christmas tree Edited January 2 by clivegto 6 Quote

clivegto Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) So we made it to Newark classic winter bike show. Thought we had one of the best turn outs for bikes on the OSS stand I've seen , unfortunately I won't be there on the Sunday as well Edited January 7 by clivegto 4 Quote

clivegto Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Dragged the Harris out as the sun was shining and tried to start it which was a no go . On further investigation there was no fuel getting to the carbs or the return to the tank . Checked the in line filter and the one in the fuel pump and stripped the fuel pressure regulator which looks all good. I then noticed if I put my thumb over the fuel outlet from the pump I can stop the flow. So I recon the pumps toast. Bike had been missing a bit but only sometimes and only when cruising later last summer. It has done 3500 miles with this pump but I think I is gona fit a Bosh one. clivegto Posted March 23 Posted March 23 (edited) Wasn't happy with the internal diameter of the barb fitting for the end of the fuel pump as its only 5mm so I ordered a An6 fitting yesterday from Tourqes UK which arrived today. Edited March 23 by clivegto 2 Quote
clivegto Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Had to alter the undertray to fit the new fuel pump a bit and alter the fuel pipe lengths. 1 Quote

Good call, I'd forgotten about that but now you mention it I've had a carb or two in the past with those little crescent shapes of rubber on the inlet side of the float valve. Quote
clivegto Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Not touched it for 3 weeks, pressed the go button and the beast fired up on all 4 cylinders. So seen as Stafford bike show is next weekend I went to fit the seat unit which didn't fit had to re do 2 of the fuel line's to get it to fit. Went for a spin down the lane and all appears to be good apart from the front tyre is low on pressure. So am happy for now, just needs going over with an oily rag to clean it up for the show next week. 3 Quote
