spiderpig Posted Saturday at 07:06 AM Posted Saturday at 07:06 AM Well gents, Will a B6 884 top end go onto a 750 slabby bottom end? Stumbled upon a 884 B6 with a blown gearbox going for very reasonable money. I have a spare slabby 750 motor gathering dust and was thinking... I know I could just pick up a 6 box but I'd prefer to stick it in the slabby. Quote
Upshotknothole Posted Saturday at 07:27 AM Posted Saturday at 07:27 AM Is the 884 just a 955 kit for a 750 on a 600? I'd guess if anything you could strip the important bits and use them on the slabby engine. I know from personal experience those 600 gear boxes aren't very strong and heavy abuse or practicing wheelies will make short work of them. I can't remember if the bore spacing on the 600s is the same or not though. Quote
Bow Posted Saturday at 07:37 AM Posted Saturday at 07:37 AM Simple answer, yes, TTS used to sell the 884 kit for the slabby motor, and if it’s a genuine TTS conversion, you’ll find it has a nice set of cams and a ported head to match. And it makes a stonking Motor. Richard Hocking is the man to chat to, he’s rebuilt loads of them, and runs one in his own slabby. 2 Quote
spiderpig Posted Saturday at 07:44 AM Author Posted Saturday at 07:44 AM Yep, was the full 2.5k kit, has the lumpy cams, ported head. Should have knife edged rods as well from what I've read. Was wondering if I'd run into any issues with the B6 being based on the 750f? Quote
Bow Posted Saturday at 08:03 AM Posted Saturday at 08:03 AM No bud, would not bother swapping the rods, just chuck the topend onto your motor, and I can’t remember if you have to swap the camchain sprockets, been years since I did the one we ran in my lads drag bike, we went the other way, GSXR into B6. 1 Quote
