Recommend Handlebar Switches

Looking at replacing poorly functioning 1980 GSX1100 handlebar switches with new and hoping for recommendations.

Anybody used cheapo alloy ones of eblag for example,at £10 a pair. ( wouldn’t expect so )

Any thoughts folks, ta.

I have spare LH & RH switches but at 43 years old there past there best and I want switches that can be relied on 100%

the problematic LH switch square button that is HI LO beam and indicators is all over the place.

I have a Hayabusa left side switch at the moment. I think it's pretty good, has even lever for the chocke / fast idle. On right side I have some H*nda part, can't recall model any more.

I would just first list all the needed functions / buttons and then go through Eblag or local bike breaker to find something that match.

LH Switch HI, LO Beam, Indicators, horn.

RH Switch, Lights on off, kill switch, starter button. Throttle twist grip.

So, exactly as standard then LOL! Probably best to stick to Suzuki - just more 'modern'

I've used bandit, sv, tl and gsxr many times before. Just don't go for the 2010 and some before as they don't have a lights on/off unless you want your lights on all the time.

And some of the latter gsxf switchs have hazard switch

Look for Suzuki Gn switches they can be bought new from eblag or most Chinese bike suppliers they're almost identical to the old gsx units

gs125 switches are availavle new for very little money and they have similar wiring connections, you might have to jiggle the wiring round but theyre close enough for it to be a simple job.

I've used gsf650 switch gear, cheap & plentiful with a push pull throttle too

Thanks folks, have looked on eblag and there are sets at £10 a set look ok but I’ve doubts that at a tenner there suitable enough, seem to have had sold lots, anybody have any experience of them.

like you say might be best to get a newer Suzuki set.

The switches are fairly simple to rebuild. Often just dismantling and cleaning the connections will have it working like new. You can get many of the internal parts from Suzuki still.

GSXR switches are cheap an a hell of a lot newer than what you have.  I just wire them in with new connector blocks
