ELLESS Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 Hi, is this the lightest 1100 ? How low can You go? Quote
Gixer1460 Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 Looking at that picture . . . . . a long ways! Depends on what its for and how deep are your pockets? 1 Quote

Askamaskinservice Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 If you change to GSXR1000 K1-K2 original exhaust 4-2-1 they are made of Ti and really light Quote

Askamaskinservice Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) You have to spread the pipes apart , other than that it should work. 2240gram is the weight of mine. Isn't installed yet but will be fitted to GSX1100F engine. Edited October 21, 2019 by Askamaskinservice Added weight 1 Quote
dupersunc Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Mine is around the same weight . head cooler adds a bit if weight but helps power more. I have Astralites which aren t the lightest wheels but lighter than the slingshot wheels it had. To go lighter I'd replace the rear caliper and disc, the seat unit is quite a thick lay up so some weight could be saved there. I'd build an alloy tank too. Then you are into removing alternator and starter and lightening the clutch and gearbox parts. 1 Quote

bluedog59 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Sorry to be the one to ask but, how heavy is the rider ? Often the easiest and cheapest way to lose a few kg. Quote
dupersunc Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 If you do both it's a win win. Actually that's a lie. Cutting pies from your diet is a lose. Quote
clivegto Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 My braced 750 frame 200kg on the local weigh bridge full of fuel but it does make well over 200hp. 2 Quote

bluedog59 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Unfortunately, loosing weight off the rider has some good advantages, 1. It's a lot cheaper. 2. It's easier to loose a worthwhile amount. 3. Loosing weight and being fitter will make you faster ( stamina and concentration ). Quote

I would rather keep the yoshi headers than swapping to the gsxr ones, loose more in power than you will gain in the weight saving. Looks like youve done most of the affordable stuff. Biggest saving and handling improvement you can make is getting some lighter wheels. Can save quite a few kg's and its unsprung weight Quote
bluedog59 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 +1 on that. I put a pair of lightweight PVM's in my B12, better handling/agility, acceleration, braking. What do your race regs say about changing them ? Quote
