  1. Back from the my first race of the season still buzzing Entered the 4 Bandit challenge races and the newcomers race and managed to finish all without being last. Took 3 seconds off my best lap time over the 2 days, now need to make some changes to the runt to get ready for Cadwell in 3 weeks time.Had a few challenges over the weekend getting the runt running ok but struggled through.Even saw 74bhp on the track dyno, must be my bulk slowing it down A great bunch of racers at FPR made me feel welcome and looked after me and all my stupid questions Big thanks to @Paulmfor the stickers and spare engine
  2. Back in 1 piece running ok,Donington ready at last
  3. Carbs back on,started fine and ran up ok with no leaks.Went to run it through the gears and you’ve guessed it ignition killed immediately. Well 24 hours fault finding and traced corroded wires in the side stand circuit, the stand is deleted for the race bike but the closed loop wasn’t passing enough current to keep the relay working. All done with a big hand from my sparky son Tomorrows jobs are to bolt everything back on, and give it a general check over then sort all the race kit out ready for next weekend need to do it now as I’m away Monday to Thursday in Sweden with work. Starting to get real nervous now and I’m sure I’ll spend my first ever race weekend just trying to get the bike setup and running ok,as I’ve not been able to test it yet. I’ve got 5 races to get things working then 3 weeks until Cadwell,I’ll do a race report once I’ve recovered
  4. I’ve got them in my RGV make a big difference not as good as a cartridge conversion but good value for not much money
  5. New bearings in the wets, the list is getting shorter, catch tank fitted just need the Viton o rings to turn up then I can get the carbs back on
  6. Carbs all cleaned and rebuilt just waiting for a few o rings in the post, new battery arrived to. Waiting for the postie on Tuesday then hopefully get the runt running again.
  7. Any pictures of the set-up??
  8. All the best, keep it shiny side up,best colours to
  9. I’m happy to be corrected but I had this same issue a couple of years ago,the conclusion I came to was that the bolt was used on both GSXR 750 and 1100 from 85 onwards and other models into the water cooled era such as GSXR WP etc plus busa and GSXR 600 I used CNMSL parts fiches or alpha sports I remember it saying that the part was used on 20 odd models. I reckon I’d buy the cheaper option as long as it quotes OEM part no 0910607009
  10. Gutted I can't make it
  11. I've used hiflo for a while now, sometimes when I've been lazy I've even left it on for 2 years.. and just dropped the oil instead on the slabby. When I took it off last year it didn't look any different to when I changed it yearly, and it was used on the road and track days.I wouldn't recommend my behaviour just saying i think they're ok.
  12. Well got some carb rebuild kits from Japan, was home last week so started the carb strip down. Stripped No4 carb and fizzy bathed, rebuilt with the shiny new parts and set the float height,3 more to do when I'm home again.New battery ordered today hopefully sorts the starting issue after petrol flooding over the old one killed it.Stripped off the harness and cleaned all the connections that I need for racing.Due to being overseas I won't make the Snetterton round as planned, so when I'm back at Easter I need to get the runt sorted before Donington, which will now be my first race meeting, and the first test of the bike full stop. The joys of trying to go racing
  13. This ones special....I call it the runt....
  14. Well worth it,I've only got the p/v controller as I ran out of funds but they do a CDI/PV box that gets rid of the standard kit and is fully programmable and even has a quick shifter option I'm told they give better gains on the VJ22 than the 21.Can't believe the difference in the bike now
  15. Rode over to Sleaford Saturday to get the Zeeltronic fitted and set-up.Bottled doing it after looking at the multiple unfinished wires and not wanted to start chopping plugs off just in case I killed the electrics I got Sean at the Tuning Works to sort it for me. I made the tea and did the strip down and rebuild while Sean did the leccy/tech jobs. Nice clean install and the ability to unplug and replug the existing loom back in just in case the box is ever faulty. Plug into Sean's laptop and set the parameters for valve opening(8,000 to 10,600rpm), quick test ride and all's now good with the motor. The ride home was a blast ,the lightly tuned motor is now on song ready for Dyno day in July.I have a handheld programmer so can just plug in and set the rpm to valve opening % if I need to further fine tune, without the need to take a laptop with me. Ran out of fuel on the way home as I was getting excited and missed the petrol station while on reserve....short push to the next one. Even getting 29 to the gallon which is good for the grin factor and lifts the front end in 1st and 2nd gear from a standing start
  16. I’ve got 1100 slingshot ones on mine
  17. I’m in to @Paulmhappy to help if you need it Let me know what bike you prefer me to bring
  18. Here you go mate https://doningtonpark.msv.com/DP-19-CRMC
  19. In the spirit of united OSS I’ve cancelled my subscription to said mag today........fuck em all
  20. As the runt let me down I went to Donington on the slabby so at least got some time on track, raced a few faster newer bikes beat a few of them and managed to outbreak myself and end up it the gravel trap to...thats 32 year old brakes for you and a distinct lack of talent.... Ordered a boat full of carb spares ready for the weekend, problem is when you try to save money it always comes back to bite you. I'm off for a few days next week so plan to get the carbs off and strip and replace all the worn items, hoping the needle valves are knackered hence the fuel flowing issue.I know the float heights are ok as I checked them when I replaced the float bowl gaskets a few weeks ago. If I can get this sorted I only need to work through the wire harness/connections/battery to understand why I have intermittent power and the runt won't turn over. Also need to replace the bearings on the wets as these are knackered plus check the age and condition of said wets(plenty of tread not sure on how good they are) Then if that's all done maybe she'll fire up and run then I can get a test in before my first race..
  21. I've got them on my slabbie the boots on the leads stop any movement and they've been fine for 2 years so far
