  1. Track day at Blyton Park today, bloody hot but great fun 2stroke only with 16 smokers out on track, plenty of RGV250s ,a couple of RGV 300 conversions and 2 RGV 500s plus lots of other makes. Smoker went well with no blowups, the road tyres weren’t the best with a couple of big slides but they scuffed up eventually and kept me shiny side up,home now having a beer after much sweating all day
  2. Awesome @clivegtosorry I missed you
  3. The frame, engine and panels all the rest is GSXR slingshot
  4. Cheers for that I will be transferring most parts from my Et so this would be my ideal solution
  5. I reckon you could be right a plot by the diesel mob
  6. Back from the Dyno Day and good to catchup with some old friends and new faces to.Russ the dyno man was a top bloke and told me the smoker was running a little rich but that’s ok for now as I prefer it safe than too lean especially as it will mainly be used for track days. Showed 54 bhp on the dyno he reckons he could get me another 3bhp with a few tweaks and test runs.Track day beckons this Thursday will try to get some pictures.
  7. Starting to plan upgrades to my 7/11 ET but before I go any further what reg plate will I end up with if I order a new trick frame?
  8. E01 normally denotes general export not a race frame
  9. Back from my hols so had a bit of time to kill, got the smoker out and fitted the new race step kit. As with all these things had to do a bit of adjusting with a file to get the old parts to meet the new,all done and changed to race shift. Checked over and a bit of a clean, all ready for dyno day next Sunday, then a track day a week on Thursday
  10. New Tyga footrest kit arrived today just need to fit and change to race shift before the track day outing later this month
  11. I’ll be there on the smoker mate
  12. @KATANAMANGLERliving the dream good luck to you and the team enjoy
  13. I’d check the clutch switch and the side stand relay connections I’ve had similar issues on my race bandit not starting even though the battery was ok
  14. H model battery box,it doesn’t list an alternative for F or G models but I can’t confirm this only the H as this is what I have on mine,I assume the G is the same?
  15. My UK H model slabby registered on an E plate in 88 comes up as a J slingshot according to DVLA and V5 I told them and no surprise they weren’t interested in changing it
  16. Nice day for a ride, after passing the mot
  17. Back from Cadwell and another learning experience happy to have finished all the races I entered. Its a great series full of mostly crazy older folk one guy is 72 with some crazy young uns to,we even run with the FP1 series with a cracking Gs Harris Mag 2 and some PM Kwaks, lovely to follow once they eventually pass you. The 3 day weekend started good with dry weather forecast, a few minor adjustments to the carbs Thursday evening and the bike was running the best it ever has.Starts without choke from cold and revs and idles ok to. All was good for the test day on the Friday running steady 2.08 laps just to get my head around a track I’ve never raced at. Up early for timed practice on the Saturday morning bought the usual racer problems as I now realise must be normal with all who’ve done this before. Out for the 12 minutes of practice for grid positions 1 lap in and the clutch starts slipping like mad so just grin and bear it and try to go as quick as I dare without killing anything, gets back in to find my transponders not working and I don’t have a time so start from the back of row 10 . Drain the oil refill with new and keep the level as low as I can plus slacken the cable as much as I dare hoping to cure the issue. On to the grid for race 1 hook the clutch up and get the best launch ever followed by going backwards to where I started with the same clutch issues, manage to pick off a few folk on the brakes and finish 25.Thats moved me up the grid for the next race. More messing with the clutch in between races and Saturday night makes sod all difference so decide to ride it as is,you pay your money you need to race. Times now down to around 2.00 laps so go out for extra practice Sunday morning after walking the track with a beer the night before got some good input from some of the fast boys and put it to good use by cracking the 2 minute barrier in the session. Now I have a idea of what to do and need to beat my closest rival on track.Who has already pipped me twice on the last lap in both races the day before.I’m up the grid 2 rows to 23 based on Saturdays finishes. This series has some fast boys in it and getting in the top 20 is looking bloody impossible,so race face on have a plan stick to the fast boys in front of me and hit all my markers, keep breathing and do not lose concentration, have I mentioned the number of times you need to piss Flag up red lights on then go,great hook up with more clutch slipping and I’m being overtaken already ,don’t get fazed ride the bike and take no prisoners Ride up the inside of 3 of them into coppice round the outside of 2 more at Charlie’s 2 then outbreak another at the end of Park, dive up the inside of 2 more at the gooseneck now I’ve caught the fast group, fucking hell this is great I’m laughing and talking to myself inside my helmet.Knees down toe sliders grinding on the deck didn’t think you could get a blandit this low. Hang onto the fast lads for 2 laps then they pull the pin and I’m nearly crashing everywhere, need the signature and more experience so go back to the original plan, finish the race in 20th place and never drop out of the 1.58s.beat my rival by more than 12 seconds and fair play to him he comes to find me and shakes my hand what a top bloke. I’m still aching and need to change the engine before the next race as the one in the bike is dog slow in a straight line. Still buzzing roll on the next round.
  18. For what good they do I’ve left mine on and had them blanked off internally
  19. Cadwell next weekend so new oil, plugs, filter and lock wiring. Slight adjustments to the carbs to try to get the runt to rev cleanly, even the dog helped
