  1. mine had the same, don't know what exactly caused it but I do know that an 1100 engine cured it.
  2. yes that's an M fairing. Maybe the original got damaged in a crash and the M fairing was available. AFAIK only the top fairing is different, side and under fairings are the same as L. L and M tanks are the same, only difference is the paintjob. This site is usefull: www.motorcyclespareparts.eu
  3. as I wrote earlier your fairing is from a 1991 model. Complete restoration would imply buying a '90 fairing + headlights + bracket etc.
  4. use you key on your own bike, not someone else's
  5. IMO the powerjet system is a lot of headfuck for little to no gain in real life. On my bike the plastic elbow on one of the carbs is also broken, I have just plugged the rubber pipe and it rides exactly the same as before.

  7. drill out the rivets and it comes apart.
  8. that's the pipe for the powerjet circuit. The plastic thing on the bottom should be connected with the bent pipe at the top with some rubber pipe. But since the powerjet is not activated on UK models, if you unscrew the float bowl you will find a "zero" jet in there, blanking off the top pipe will have the same result as installing a new float bowl (plastic bit not available separately). If the top pipe is not blanked off it is a massive air leak so be sure it is.
  9. holds up fine. I removed the steel bracket from my 750L twelve years ago and no problems whatsoever.
  10. no oldskoolsuzuki no care. I like the Guzzi Sport 1100 myself but the other mods here will probably delete it, like any other off-topic pics. We are a special bunch here. Anyway, welcome to OSS
  11. I have a powerscreen lump in my GSX-R 750. And I'm not the only one, awesome engines they are.
  12. 88-89 (J-K) is the first 750 Slingshot. Compact frame, RWU forks, 4,5" rear wheel, 748cc short stroke motor, 36mm carbs and 4-2 exhaust. 90 (L) got 5,5" wheel, UPSD forks, slightly larger frame, 749cc long stroke motor, 38mm carbs and 4-1 exhaust. Bodywork looks like (but is not the same as) J/K models. 91 (M) got small engine changes (mostly in the head), new front fairing and tailpiece with twin taillights. And a wider frame under the seat units. 92 (WN) became watercooled. Completely different bike, not many parts are interchangeable with the oilcooled ones. The bike in your pic looks like an L (narrow seat unit, rear shock comp adjusting knob instead of screw on M models) with an M fairing installed (covered headlights).
  13. later teapots ('98 on) have the TPS. And the resistor in the ignition lock. No resistor = no spark
  14. Navigator I think. There was also a Gran Canyon but IIRC it had the aircooled Ducati engine.
  15. Raptor and V-Raptor. Only good thing about them is the engine. Not sporty at all, more like a bandit. Quality is a bit "Italian" too (I know because I worked at a Cagiva dealer when they were new).
