    Overheating

Its a gsx 750 f fair few miles on her now 55000+ Im no bike mechanic but I'm getting suspicious of the coils. Down pipe on the right of the bike when sat on it is taking longer to warm up than the rest, plus when hot its losing power have to work it through the gears more, does this sound viable.

    Overheating

OK next on the problems list Last night did about 15 miles 2up free flowing traffic, didn't go mad urban and A roads just a bimble out, nice all was well bike behaved. Today 2 up again sitting in clogged roads 20-30 mph stop start you know after around 10 miles bike got grumpy started running lumpy felt it happening so pulled into a petrol station and she cut out. refused to start again for about 20-30 minutes, but on the way home free moving traffic never missed a beat idle was a little erratic. What the hell is going on?
  3. breathers are good after cleaning the plugs I turned the air/fuel mix a quater turn to the right and gave it a damned good thrashing for about ten miles, no cutting out feels smoother still jittering a bit on idle but at least its going now , need a carb balance perhaps?
  4. Plugs are quite new, had them out today and cleaned them still running rough, this bike is really kicking my arse now 3 weeks of one thing going wrong after another. Have refitted airbox made all connections are good new fuel hoses. Still cuts out when hot feels like its stuttering a bit under my arse when riding. Are the idle screw and mix screw the two on the 1st intake carb could this be an issue wrong mix? forgive my technical terms but I'm no mechanic. Also noticed the down pipe on the right of the bike (when sat on it doesn't get warm as quick as the others. Any tips suggestions advice is more than welcome.
  5. cheers guys me thinks the air box shall remain. I'm new to all this buggering about with bikes saw these cheap on the bay of e and the box was a bitch the get out and on again. The bike (gsx 750f ) running lumpy and a bugger to start at the min so chasing an air leak (i think) stinks of petrol when trying to start it.
  6. Just wondering anyone used these. Was thinking of doing away with the standard airbox and filter, any benefits ? drawbacks?

    fork in hell

Hey again guys I was wondering what options I have for replacing the forks on a 91 gsx 750f . one seems ok the other is corroded badly at the bottom of the stansion, what will fit in just a slide in fashion all the gsx forks seem a tad expensive are bandit, gsxr or rf forks going to do the job. I imagine gsxr forks would cause clearance issues with gsxf fairings and tank but unsure. Many thanks in advance.

    Tick tick tick boom

Sounds top endy behind exhaust manifold
  10. Hey guys wondering if the ticking sound when idling is normal for a gsx and is there any way to quiet it down a tad. My son just told me it sounds like an old Transit.
  11. Thanks so much guys fuel gauge now working without killing the battery which is nice! Second issue is the rear shock it is leaking oil and spring is a bit squishy, what options do I have here seen used ones on flea bay, a rebuild service and new ones the latter being way out of my budget. Are any other Suzuki shocks a direct bolt in replacement I notice Bandit rear shocks are cheaper used but do not have the piggy back oil tank does it matter. Sorry for ignorance and thanks for the help.
  12. Cheers for that I have found a couple of wires that appear to be right but dont have the same connections as the sender. Any how I have conneted it all up and as long as it doesn't stay live when the ignition is off it should be ok right?
  13. Hi to all thought it would be a good idea to join up having just bought a gsx750 f 1991. Bought as a non runner as a bit of a project she came with a few known issues and several unknown ones too! So after getting her running and discovering the bike has a breaker button reset thingy which caused me a few moments of puzzlement head scratching and swearing the electrics came to life, but i do not know where to connect the fuel sender unit where the wires come out of the bottom of the tank. I've had a look at a wiring diagram but it made my head hurt and my eyes bleed so I thought I would pick the brains of those who know what they are doing. I assume that these connectors should join to something coming from the fuel gauge. Put a couple of snaps on one of the bike and one of the sender unit wires and breather. Any help advice would be really welcome.
