  1. I once had the starter relay mounted on top of the airbox, under the tank. Sidestand relay and pop out fuse thingy were removed from the loom. Under the battery was now nice and empty.
  2. or a Busa engine and a turbo + intercooler, all nicely hidden behind the fairing
  3. fuel taps are crap on watercooled GSX-R's. And as NorthernBloke said these bikes are a bitch to work on.
  4. Yesterday i wanted to start the EFE - B12 thing, and the starter clutch refused to operate in the prescribed manner (starter turning, engine not). I removed the starter gear cover, nothing looking unusual there, removed the bolt and tried to pull off the clutch, which i could not do, special tool needed. Reassembled the thing and it started. A few starts later it's fucked again. I have a 750M lump lying in the corner, does its starter clutch fit on a Mk2 B12? Part numbers are different. And if not, which others do? And how can i remove the starter clutch without a special tool costing a zillion euros? Never needed to remove one before.
  5. someone in the projects section (can't remember the name now) is installing an oilcooled lump in a 550 frame and apparently it's very tight. I would think that the 750 ES engine does not fit.
  6. then get a job. You're not likely to find one here on OSS. Not scaring you away, just trying to help.
  7. that's gonna run like shit without an air intake
  8. the GN400 is a single cilinder bike, like a GN250 but bigger. The GS400/450 is a twin. http://suzukicycles.org/All-Suzuki/all_suzuki_models.html
  9. basically straight swap, only difference is the bottom rear mount, 10mm on the 750 and 12mm on the 1100. Fuel tap might interfere with the carb tops depending on which carbs you use. 1100 CDI unit, signal generator, alternator etc plug straight in the 750 loom.
  10. it could be cracked internally. Try to connect a wire from the coil straight to the tacho, see if it works then. And yes black/yellow is the correct wire according to my factory Suzuki manual. Later models have a black/red wire from the CDI for tacho signal.
  11. Hi and welcome. You'll be lucky if you loose only your license. Having tried one I can confirm it's a mental bike.
  12. Hi guys 'n gals, show us a pic or two of YOUR EFE, not from the 'net or whatever. Not necessarily with original engine/suspension. No chit-chat, just pics.
  13. it certainly has potential. Swingarm would be the first thing to go if it was mine
  14. yeah the 1100L is one year behind on the 750L so it still has the "old" electrics. The 1100M/N don't have relays. You're so smart
  15. L/M/N models don't have headlight relays, earlier Slingshots do.
