  1. Sander, you are always the pioneer and you are a credit to OSS. I will watch on with interest.
  2. Unless your question is rhetorical the answer is: Because slabby!
  3. The slabby tank has has a recess under the tank for the air box. That's where the battery is on my race bike.
  4. Aye. Here you go Gav. Remove the peg and plate and make up a couple of these to mount the the whole assembly 25mm lower. It means you retain the positions of the levers in relation to the peg. There is a to mount on the sub frame to. You can make up a wee extension for that or just rely on the frame mounts only.
  5. Aye the peg position is a killer. I have a design for dropping the whole peg and lever assembly. I dig it out.
  6. That only lasts until the red lights go out. It is quickly replaced by a child like expression of Christmas morning euphoria. This expression is accompanied by a strong urge to jump and down chanting "again again again" in a giggly high pitched voice.
  7. Aye there is plenty to think about. Don't forget to practice your race face.
  8. Change your bike to a slabby. Problem solved. Can't you see you're being punished for riding a slingshot.
  9. Just keep it as a tramps racing pool bike
  10. Wet bike aye? Posh as fuck. You've changed brother...
  11. It would appear that Canadian winged hammers are just like number 6 buses. You wait all day for one to come along and then 2 come along at once. Last week I winged up @Wilsonand this week it's his racing buddy@riversbikes @fatblokeonbandityour'e going to like this because he's racing a 1200 Bandit. Riversbikes told me: Like Wilson I'll be racing at the Gimli "Goat Path", but will try to head south and scare some 'muricans at a trackday and/or an AHRMA event somewhere. In the past I've been the local Thunderbike Champion in Novice and Expert classes, and in 2011 won the Ultralight GP class with a Tigcraft-framed DRZ400 supermono, the frame of which I bought from Dave Pearce directly in 2008 and flew home as carry-on luggage. I last raced a KTM Duke 690 in 2017, placing second in Canadian Thunder. This should be a somewhat different experience. Can't wait until May! Welcome to the team and may our mighty winged hammer give you the thump you need for the 2019 season. Keep us up to speed with your progress. You can now start a thread in the race section telling us all about your preparation.
  12. Hi everyone here is my Suzuki under a bike cover. If I take off the bike cover is there anyone here who could tell me anything about it? Seriously, stop waisting bandwidth. I'll pop by later and see if this has gone anywhere. If it hasn't I'm letting @MeanBean49off the leash.
  13. I will be putting an alternator blanking plate on this year as I will be running total loss. My intention is to fit a vent hose on there instead of from the clutch cover.
  14. We have another member of the OSS international race fraternity. @Simbec1863has been a big site supporter since we began and now he wants to race. The least we can do is give him some wings. Simon told me: I am building a MK1 Bandit 600 race bike that I have entered into the Formula Prostocks http://www.formulaprostocksracing.co.uk/ Suzuki GB Motul Bandit Challenge, the events are run under North Gloucester Race Club https://www.ngroadracing.org/. The series starts in March at Brands Hatch and concludes in September at Oulton Park,I've attached the fixture list for info. ACU test booked at Mallory Park in Feb and race bike prep well underway. Welcome to the team Simon . The Hammer and the Wings are yours as is our support and adulation. The rest is down to you. Good luck. I will move your build thread here.
  15. Forgive me Hanmashin for I have sinned! I have been tardy in my winged hammer work and in the preparation of my own own race bike. It's a New Year and it's time to put an end to my tardiness. (excuses out the way) We have a new Winged Hammer! His name is @Wilsonand he will be flying the mighty hammer on his slabby when racing in Canada. Wilson lives in Killarney, Manitoba, Canada and he started racing in 2000 at the age of 50 (me too) and he's still at it . Wilson told me: I club race with the Manitoba Roadrace Association (MRA). Our track is the Gimli Motorsport Park, affectionately called the “Goat Trail”. I won the MRA Canadian Thunder (twins) championship in 2009 and our club’s Master’s Championship (for old guys) in 2012. Now the present. Last August I picked up a 1985 GSXR 750 with the intention of putting it on the street but that idea was shelved because I already have two street bikes and don’t need a third. So the 750 is now being prepped for the track. I’m keeping it pretty much stock including the 18” wheels. I sent the forks to RaceTech for a rebuild and emulators. The shock turned out to be a Fox Twin Clicker and RaceTech rebuilt it also. The MRA runs a five round series each summer and I will be entering my say what now!? in each round of the 2019 season. I did not race last season due to family commitments and travel. Wilson, may Hamnashin's mighty hammer give you the victory you so righteously deserve brother. Welcome to the team. You can start a thread in this section to keep us informed of progress.
  16. I have a hoo flung dung rear master cylinder on my race slabby but I never use it so it may have already failed for all I know. It's all good stuff up front where it counts though.
  17. What bikes do you have already Mark? @Harry74
  18. Well done chaps. What a diverse collection of OSS goodness.
