  1. I have that slingshot CDI from G to return. I'll pop round.
  2. The toggle positions are all printed on the inside of the cover and I found some instructions on another site that explained what the various modes were for the 750. What are the pro's and cons of single vs double pick ups?
  3. mine sits on top of the frame so it doesn't use any of the space underneath. I'm using a smaller battery.
  4. I have a small gel battery under my tank in the original air-box recess. I built a little box for it and mounted it to the frame rails. Link to the build thread below.
  5. Aha here's the thing. Just went out to the garage and took a look at the V&H unit and it only has one pick up connection. The 1100 is a twin pick up. The CDI I have is in a bit of state open at one end and held together with cable ties so I may have to source a replacement.
  6. Thanks for all the replies. What I'll do is put a blob of blue tack on the rev counter dial face to stop the needle at my chosen red line that way when the needle hits the blue tack the bike wont rev any higher. Sorted
  7. Thanks Rob. Let me know. BTW I found out the zzr600 front wheel fits the ZX6R J1 front end so I bought one with disks on the Bay.
  8. I'm trying to get a spare set of wheels sorted out for the slabby so that I can have them mounted with wets for racing next year. I used an RF rear wheel on the original build so I'm looking for another 5.5 " wheel that will slot in with the same spacers , cush drive and spindle. What are the other models that shared the same rear as the RF900? Mark 1 Bandit? WP1100?
  9. KM: Hey viz what would you like to drink tea or coffee? Viz: Yes.
  10. "Yes" you confirm it won't work, as I had assumed or "yes" it will work? www.oldskoolvizuki.miss-info
  11. Hello oil cooled bods. I was recently gifted a V&H powerpak ignition for my slabby race bike. ( thanks @Mole28) It has various ignition performance settings and also allows you to set the rev limiter. On inspection of the setting toggle switches under the cover I noticed that the ignition is labelled for use on the 750 not the 1100. It's old technology so I can't find any searchable serial number for cross reference but I am otherwise assuming it will not work with the1052. Can anyone confirm?
  12. As many will remember we had a 3 rider team in this years endurance legends event at Donington. Unfortunately the OSS bike that was built to carry the team had some late teething problems and an "alternative" had to be used. Nonetheless, they were still our boys and in my mind nothing changed. I took along my supply of winged hammers planning to dish them out at the race. I was able to do that for @YoshiJohnny at the event and @MeanBean49was already a winged hammer. I wasn't able to get hold of our 3rd rider because unfortunately a catastrophic oil leak directly onto the rear tyre had sent him track surfing in the practice session and landed him in hospital with some broken bits, which are now on the mend. Maximum effort! So, without further adieu, I welcome @fatblokeonbanditto the hallowed ranks of our winged hammer race team. Your stickers are in the post OSS salutes you.
  13. Go team 28! Go winged hammers! Great result @Mole28. Well done pal.
  14. The pictures are flowing like mud Baz. Stop teasing us.
  15. I did a long and involved study of this model. I am a reluctant authority on them now. Glad we are all sorted. It's a great bike. A real all rounder and it can shift. As long as you don't have daddy long legs. All you need to do now is to decide what to put in the glove compartment.
