  1. just done a google search and only one pic came up with a grabrail, does yours have a mounting bracket under the tail unit ? the other mounting point is the top shock bolt. im afraid grabrails for the old suzuki's are like hens teeth to find, you might find a second hand one that'll probably need rechroming. i've been looking for one for my gsx750 but had no luck !!!! but mines not in bad condition.
  2. did the 550 come with a grab rail ? or do you mean the one on the left for lifting the bike up on its stand ?
  3. i think starting somewhere near stock and then experiment with other sprockets, fronts are pretty cheap, its what i do.
  4. yeah she's well fit
  5. you can't use the hanger in your hand if your not using a torque arm, you will need one that slots into the mount thats welded to the swinger.
  6. can i ask why you want to put F.I. on a 600 bandit ?
  7. TonyGee

    info needed

have you measured the bore ? do they have a TPS or not ? from this angle they look similar to mk2 bandit !!!
  8. reminds me of my brother in law, many years ago he put 2 brake callipers in a bucket of caustic soda over night, you can guess what happened
  9. as your oil level gone up ? stick your nose in the oil filler cap and see if it has a strong smell of fuel, if it does it needs changing. maybe a fresh air filter wouldn't hurt either.
  10. you might need a bandit hanger but i don't know if your calliper hole spacing will be the same ? and don't rely on part numbers, just because they are different doesn't mean they wont fit. suzuki are known for parts interchanability
  11. yeah they are getting silly prices now !!! i did get a set last year with 8500 miles on them for £100
  12. why would somebody put 32mm carbs on a gsxr 1127 engine ???? they are fitted to inazuma 1200's but they arn't a race bike. 1200 bandit carbs will fit and more of them available second hand.
  13. you can take the complete airbox off and it won't make the idle hang, it can effect the running though.
  14. when you balance carbs you are aligning all the butterfly valves up so it shouldn't effect the balancing, inazuma 750/1200 carbs are 32mm.
  15. i didn't pay owt when i did the B12 but it was about 10 years ago !!!!!
  16. i bought a second hand 1200 bandit that was registered new on the IOM when i lived over their, when i came back to the UK i had to go through the registration process with the DVLA. came back with an age related plate. took a while though
  17. very satisfying when you figure out a problem
  18. you will need to measure the length of your forks from the top to the spindle centre then compare it to the GSXR forks , the later 600/750 forks are a bit on the short side compared to the older RWU forks, the bike might look like its doing a nose dive !!!! it would steer quicker but could be unstable at high speeds. the slingshot forks are good for the older bikes if you can find a good set ?????
  19. not sure about your bike Sam but generally you do 1 to 2 then 3 to 4 and then 1and2 to 3and4
  20. lol yeah same here
  21. they are much better readings. did you do them with a warm engine ?
  22. what about taking the stem to a machine shop and see if they can cut the excess off and rethread and machine the bearing surface ? it might be an option if you cant find a stem
  23. i wouldn't be happy with the compression test figures !!!! anything below 100psi is not good !!! they sould be done with a warm engine so it might be worth letting it rev for a while and re'doing the test and with full open throttle.
  24. yeah might work but sometimes the welding can distort it !!!! i think it would be safer to get another stem for piece of mind.
  25. i bought a gsxr1100 bottom yoke from Germany and when it turned up i could see the weld half way down the shaft, it looked strong enough but it wasn't straight !!! luckily i didn't need the shaft as i put a bandit one in.
