  1. Yes, don't know why as they are a good engine.
  2. Fuck me, this is such a cool build and a lot of very very nice work
  3. Looking very nice @baldricklove to see how it looks on the bike
  4. I put new OEM steel plate, fiber plates and HD springs in my 1100f and don't have any problems.

    Katana build

Welcome to OSS Nice looking Kat
  6. Yes the 1127 power screen are a good motor, the one in the kat has never let me down and has plenty of go in it and you can tweak them. Don't go for the 1052 motors, I blew up 3 of them 2 standard one and one big bore each time put the con rod through the crank cases

Hi Ron, If it's backfires on slowing down (shout off) it may be running lean or a air leak on the exhaust, 3-5 rpm is where the advance should be coming in. I'd try three things, 1. Check valves clearance (be shims on the GS) 2. What colour are your plugs when worm? 3. You could slot the timing plate on the 3 holes that the bolt/screw hole it to the crank case you could then advance/retard the engine if needed. 4. Balance the carbs, as that can make a big difference. 5. You could put a Dyna S ignition on, you would still need to get a manual ATU part for it but it removes the need for a cdi (black box) as it wires strate into the coils. But when I can get to the shed I will see if I have a ATU. Did have some spare ones but I can't remember if I gave them to a mate.

It's not a standard ATU you have. Not seen that type on a GS before. Most I've seen even when using a Dyna ignition you still have the standard manual advance/retard that bolts onto the end of the crank (your pic 3) if I get chance tomorrow afternoon I will take a pic for you, unless someone nice on here can do it first
  10. Thanks could not remember if the 1100f was regular or hyvo Thanks
  11. Dose anybody know it the gsx1100f and b12 can sprockets are the same? Thanks
  12. I have a gsx1100f in my kat with 38 mm carbs and I'm very happy with it on the road, but if your tuning one (I'm told of someone how draged one) you can't go above 200bhp because of the crank cog between it and the clutch let's go in a big way. He was running 1340cc with nos.
  13. No, I put a clamp just after the pipes left the oilcooler onto the bottom yoke then ran them over the top of the engine to the oil take off (which is at the back on the GS) You could do the same with a oilcooled motor but giving a bit of slack from the headstock to the bottom yoke then run the pipes down the frame rails. I was using AN8 pipes as, one they don't take up as much room as the 10, two they have a bit more flex in them and three I always think AN10 pipes look way to big on a bike and a bit overkill, but that's just me.
  14. Didn't have a firing on my GS, the cooler was mounted with brackets from the bottom/top yoke and it turned with the forks/yokes.
  15. Did it years ago on a tuned GS1000 (no pics, way before dig camera ) put it under the twin spots
  16. Ok , thanks for that @fatblokeonbanditi have two in a box of bits (don't know if they are gsxr750 or 1052) so I will remove the one in the b12 motor and see what's what.
  17. I've used them on two or three bikes, you don't get big bhp but it dose seem to give more throttle response and makes the engine feel more responsive. Some people say a 4 degree is better some say a 5 is better, used both and I'd say no real difference. I'm not a big one for putting my bikes on the Dyna, I more play with the jetting till it feels right on the road where it count's. I know how big my dick is and don't need a piece of paper saying it and if you want to go a bit faster ever go on a diet or have a good shit before you go on your bike
  18. A mate had a gs7/10 for years, told me it was a strate swop, just needed to tweek the mounts/ swop/interchange/mixup the 750 and 1000 mounts, he was even using the 750 airbox as it was a all year round bike. Not done it myself so only repeating what I was told, as I was thinking of doing myself when I had a spare 1000 motor.
  19. Mmmm, like the way you think, going to look nice
  20. Dose anybody know, is the GSXR cam Chain tensioner the same a the mk1 B12 one, or can you use a GSXR one in a B12 ? Cheers.
  21. Yes that always seems to happen to me all the time have something in the shed for years and never use it, then try and sell it but no sale so end up putting it in the bin, then a year or so later find you need/want one and can never get one for a good price
  22. You beat me to that question Did look at the later gsxr600/750/1000 k1/2 and the srad one's but they where no way near.
