  1. Fitted Lust Racing lowering dogbones which get the rear end to '91 height and it seems to have solved the problem
  2. Hey. No idea, i don't use them i only had the plan handy I guess it's only for track bikes that get serviced/dismantled regularly
  3. Skimmed a tad off the push rod and it is now working much more like it should Feels like there is a bit of slip higher up in the rev range when you give it some, but maybe i need some uprated springs due to the state of tune ? I heard that the R springs are softer than the F springs ??? And i clearly have no way of identifying what the provenance is. With a hydro clutch, is the extra spring rating noticeable like it is with a cable clutch ? I'm hoping maybe less since it is the fluid and piston doing the job ?
  4. So, thinking about it again and trying to find a different angle, in view of the current situation and set up : - the clutch springs i have, if they may be too soft, do the similar type GSXR and what i believe to be GSXF bear the same rating ? (I checked, not the same part nº) - for some reason, maybe the total length of the non compressible factor, (i.e. the total length of primary push rod, central rod, and the end rod that pushes the pressure plate) is maybe just a tad too long which means it keeps the discs slightly relieved from one another ? In view of that i'm going to test that path and see the difference if any to start with, then maybe replace springs because it is now the onlt unknown factor of the clutch set up.
  5. You need a 1135EFE cover if you want the oil pushed up to a cooler Can be found second hand
  6. It depends what you're looking for Originally BST40 People say BST38 give the best result for stock carbs Truth is, it's more or less possible to fit any of the 11R diameters, BST34 from a 1052 will give loads of torque downstairs, the 40s give HP upstairs. On my 1127 swapped GSX1100 i have been advised to put 34s with a small diameter header to create a beefy cruiser So, what do you plan to use the bike for ?
  7. Hi Seeing that i finally recieved the 2 missing discs and that the bodged setup with extra discs was not the best (kinda crunchy) Back at it It's still shit Spec sheet of the lump : - GSXF 1100 engine case - GSXR 750 six speed box - GSXF 1100 clutch basket, with new OE friction discs (the 2 outer and 9 inner) - GSXF 1100 push pin in the basket - GSXF 1100 central clutch rod - GSXF 1100 92 mm primary push rod - clutch slave smaller piston version - 14 mm MC The gears engage well, the neutral position is not spot on to find (but almost perfect compared to the previous extra disc set up), the clutch is slipping, as soon as i give it some stick it just slips. Can only pootle along in 1 2 3 gear and its just cruising lamely. really can't see what is wrong here. I feel like i am the first person with such a set up and i know that is not the case but can't seem to find anyone with the right experience
  8. Haha. Yeah i really should have bought an 11 and dressed it up with the 93 purple 7 bodykit. Would have been more straightforward I guess you have convinced me to stick to the stock 900 (although i've read that the 7 cams that will go in add a healthy breath of life to it)
  9. Hello I'm about to put an RF900 lump in my 7. I need to swap the 7 head over etc, and seeing that that requires opening up the engine, while i'm there i should probably freshen up the bores and rings etc. I figured that an increase to 75.5 pistons would work out at 1000 cc (well, 1002 precisely) Turns out the 11RW has 75.5 pistons. I believe the pins are larger on the 11, and i guess piston pin height and all the other parameters need checking, but would it be technically possible to adapt the pistons at the pin side of things ? Sleeving down etc ?? It is more of a it sounds fun to build a liter 7W idea than something i really need to do, so, if anyone with a lot more tech knowledge than me can dissuade me to try, I'm all ears
  10. K7 600 on slingshot is a bit tricky (replaced the sprocket studs by hex head screws to avoid contact with the chain adjuster), i'm guessing that with the narrower rear rim of the slabby it's not going to be easy
  11. I've got a steel one for katana i think
  12. If anyone has one also, i have an angle finder I can verify the static angle if my bike as reference
  13. It does indeed when compared to others I did have the shock rebuilt by the Ohlins affiliated specialist here. Maybe something in its set up has modified something ? But that said, is not swingarm angle down to static shock (spring) length coupled to the linkage length ? Pff this is no good, its definitely not the type of technical challenge my brain is wired for
  14. Hi. The Spring rates between K and oil bikes are pretty much the same from what i researched I used LSL risers for the clip ons so that they clear the home made fairing
  15. Just a bit of fun, what bikes should be
  16. Because : A- the katana is just a dress up kit on a pre existing bike B- more importantly, i built it so i can call it whatever i see fit On a technical note, i put new bearings all over, and i think i did the stem setting properly However now you have got me doubting about the wheel layout Chain has been done, there wasn't even the seat on that picture
  17. No its the shortest 11 swingarm. Not sure what you mean by static sag though
  18. Hello I've got my Katana R tuner bike out cause I need to give the W a rest Specs : 91 chassis 11R K7 fork and wheels Ohlins shock at 11R spec 89 11R swingarm This is give or take, the same spec as my 7W : K7 forks and wheels and a nitron shock the correct length. I know they are not the same bikes, but, the chassis are both however very similar in set up and dimensions, there are not major differences However sitting on the 7, my legs are flexed, feet flat on the ground Sitting on the 11, my legs are totally straight if i put my feet flat Riding the 11, it feels very very shaky when cornering, it really does not feel safe to turn in nicely, as if the rear end was much too high maybe ? Not that i have major knowledge of riding dynamics Is the swingarm linkage at fault ? I need to measure seat heights, maybe all this is looking at the wrong points but something feels off
  19. No MOT on 2 and 3 wheel vehicles here in France They've figured thanks to stats that in an accident involving a motorcycle, in like 0.3% of cases it is due to a technical default. That said we are not allowed to stray from standard at all (in an accident if you're on a bike without the exhaust baffle insurance won't cover you due to a "modified" exhaust system. But France is also the country of "it's legal if you don't get caught" so
  20. Seriously @TonyGeei went and searched to find what i had seen, and put a screenshot of one in A1 condition on eGay in germany ? I wonder why i bother helping out

  22. Did anyone get that first reply ?
