  1. This one was nearly going to be sold, But it has had a change of motor, motec installed and should be back on the road in a year. Cant mention what make of 1400cc motor it has now. Cheers SRR
  2. Been doing a bit of research on different ecu's, came across this Crank sensors are most commonly of the inductive type, you can normally use the original crank sensor. If your engine uses the hall effect type, MBE ECUs can be built to order. MBE write special code to allow the use of a range of different trigger wheels, most commonly 60-2(GM/VW/Bosch), 36-1(Ford), 24-1(Suzuki hayabusa) & 24-2(Suzuki Busa 2008 & other late Japanese bike engines). Other trigger wheels may become available, download Easimap 6 to check current types. A special piece of software has been written by MBE called soft start, this was produced due to known problem with the standard starter motors, that if the battery got a bit low sometimes the engine would kick back on starting and engage the starter clutch. This would, if you were lucky only damage the starter clutch itself, but if unlucky could break off part of the engine cases. Without going into too much detail, the ECU allows the engine to get up to speed during cranking before attempting to start the engine, if the engine does not reach sufficient speed it will not allow the engine to start, so damage can not occur. My bike did suffer with starting problems as described above, the soft start sound interesting, but do all other systems do the same? Cheers SRR
  3. Have you tried http://www.paceproducts.co.uk/ They do intercoolers with oil cooler piggy backed and curved.
  4. Technical help. what is the rpm of a Efe motor when on the starter motor? Cheers SRR
  5. I am now totally bamboozeald looking at all the ecu's. has anybody used one of these? https://www.ecumaster.com/products/emu-black/ good price and does more than enough. Cheers SRR
  6. So leaning towards megasquirt 3 or microsquirt, Cant make my mind up yet. Just want something that works better than it did with carb on, Is reliable, and affordable. Don't need something with all the bells and whistles. So where is my best place to buy from? Cheers SRR
  7. Thanks Arttu, Come to think of it, I think I have one already fitted to the existing set up. I am possibly thinking of getting a megasquirt 3, what do you think? or would the microsquirt do? Cheers SRR
  8. Hi all, quick question. can you run dyna coils on a megasquirt, and how? Thanks. Cheers SRR
  9. Hi davecara, any update on this? Cheers SRR
  10. Thanks Tombola, some interesting reading. Another option is to get a ecu from a hayabusa or gsxr and have it flashed pro's. 1. Readily available 2. Quite cheap secondhand. 3. Manufacture have spent lots of money sorting them. Cons.
  11. Update. Rang omex today to see about using one of there ecu's. when I mentioned it was going on a bike, they said it wouldn't work. Apparently they have tried it but because a bike goes from a slow turn over speed to say 1500 rpm there system can't cope with it. And the other point was about the size of trigger wheel, the larger the better. so it's back to the drawing board to make a decision on the ecu. Really want to use a motec but to pricey for me, and Cant seem to find any reasonably priced secondhand ones. Cheers SRR
  12. Hi Marco, its a blow through , intake from turbo goes under tank to intercooler, then round the side of the bike to the manifold and injectors. Cheers SRR
  13. Here's A couple of pics of mine Cheers SRR
  14. You could allways but the oil back in, carbs on, plugs in and fire it up. Cheers SRR
  15. What polish to you put on the frame, I've allways had good results with Mer, stops it from tarnishing. Cheers SRR
  16. Tap head all round with rubber mallet then again then again then again, eventually it should come loose. Cheers SRR
  17. Get someone else to do it. Cheers SRR
  18. How about with liners and crankcase boring? Can you get 1327 in the stock block? Cheers SRR
  19. Hi All, what is the maximum size of piston you can put in a standard gsx 1100 Katana block? Thanks. Cheers SRR
  20. I agree, see and handle the parts before parting with the money Cheers SRR
