  1. Being pedantic ^^^ this was never established as some people call CV's, flatslides as the slides are 'flat' as opposed to roundslides. But agree with RS40's being too much for good road manners - they are perfectly suitable for tuning when compared to the CV versions.
  2. As well as 40's, as that is what an 'M' in the UK came with, the OP said it needs rubbers to suit! Read before contradicting! And a Haynes manual has all the jetting combinations.
  3. Seems OP doesn't want to engage - hasn't been back since !
  4. Maybe a carb backfire cause the meltage and dent looks like its been dropped and painted over? Panel fits a bit iffy but the re-registration difficulties do stack up!
  5. They are frowned upon in UK as in bad weather, poor visibility the two lights could be mistaken for two bikes a distance away - not one, who is about to slam into them when they pull out! We're not in merica, and they ain't cool, so ditch them.
  6. Suzuki main restrictions were in carb tops and jetting but exhaust and ignition restrictions not unknown!
  7. Some were, some weren't! French were and if sold into Germany it could be but I think 'native' German bikes were 'full fat'.
  8. Has it been dyno'd? If the carbs are RS flatties, has the acell pump been set up right? Seems a lot of fuel around just for 130's ! ! !
  9. Bad recon co.! With hindsight you should have thrown them back with a ' you've f**ked up, you're paying for new liners! ' Any carbs are now going to be close to 20 yes old so will be a gamble whatever you find!
  10. The OP is in Suffolk so not USA. Question is 40mm flatslides or 40mm CVs - 1st easy to tune, 2nd not so - especially if no airbox!
  11. Maybe ask this dude - only difference I see is he's using a slide carb so avoiding the uncontrolled slide lift issues?
  12. I always thought it weird when I removed the stock plate from my K/L GSXR to fit a Dyna, that the plate still had the mounts for a second trigger - Denso must have made millions of those plates for earlier models and were just using them up LOL!
  13. The whole lot ??? Methinks could be a scam - to good to be true?
  14. Most CV carbs work via airflow and will have drillings from the mouth into the chamber over the diaphragm. As air speed increases over / through the venturi, its pressure drops - this lower pressure (if it drops below atmospheric pressure its termed a vacuum) will draw the slide up thus giving more fuel. Even if pressurised air is pushed through the venturi, its pressure still drops so the slide lifts. The pitot should be located and sized to feed a slightly higher pressure air to the fuel bowl so that the boost pressure over the fuel jets isn't more than in the bowl so fuel can still flow. Fuel pressure coming into the bowl needs a psi or so higher than any boost pressure and to follow it hence the use of boost referenced fuel pressure regulators. Single cylinder engines aren't really suited to turbocharging - one slug of exhaust every two revs as opposed to a 4 or 8 cylinder with a slug every 180 degrees of rotation, It'd need a pretty small turbocharger i'm guessing? I've seen a 'onda C50 turbo'd but more of an engineering exercise than a practical useful bike LOL!
  15. Not sure how you have installed the pitot? Blow thro carbs should need little modification to work with a turbo - so something ain't right.
  16. Definitely outside the box thinking here and skills to match!
  17. Unsealed? Looks like it - maybe not so wise with blown application . . . doesn't much matter when NA.
  18. mk1 or mk2 bus pistons ? as you may have just wasted $70!
  19. Three pin relay is pretty simple device - the two pins that have continuity when 'cold' / unconnected to anything will be 12v in and ground on other side. The remaining pin will go to 12v on and off and should go to the indicator switch to divert the switching volts to the left or right indicators. They are usually robust but nothing lives forever!
  20. We tune to make more power which will, unless the gearing is changed, will just get to the same speed, faster or pull more revs to go faster. Tacho's are notoriously inaccurate - especially Suzuki's - up to 1000 revs !!!
  21. Engine mods won't affect speed other than pulling taller gears. Tyre dia may have an effect!
  22. And its a Hippo - fast isn't in its nature LOL!
  23. A m8 with a mag4, similar problem - ended up cutting the offending tube out and remaking it with space!
