  1. Yes I did see them from Kojaycat I suppose of there are no free ones then that might be the best option. I don't know if the wiring for my WP is very similar to oiled cooled GSXR's as they may be easier to get hold off?
  2. As part of my winter weight loss program, I'm replacing my clocks with a lovely set of Chinese Koso knock offs, as we know the instructions in Chenglish are interesting, particularly the power feed from the door lock " as it says for the permanent power. Anyway to start matching wires up I need to understand what my existing ones do but my manual is a black and white PDF and when I blow it up to read I can't read the colour labels, so does anyone have one in colour? Or can anyone confirm what these colour wires do ( all from my current clock plug ) Yellow & black black & Green Blue & black Black & red I've got the power, ground, indicators , lights etc working so its the complicated bits like, tach, temp, fuel level etc that I need to sort out, any ideas? Here's a pic
  3. I've got one and I like it, Mine goes like stink so I'm happy with it and they tend to go for less money than oil cooled models so its your choice really, I'm part way into fightering mine as well so that means you loose a shed load of weight and combined with a lightweight exhaust you've lost some more. Its a long time since I had an oil cooled one so difficult for me to compare. What to look for apart from the usual bodges on any 20 year old bike, the engine can have a whining noise which on mine was the starter clutch bearing, which is easy and inexpensive to change. The only other thing is that they are more fiddly to work on with all the extra pipework under the tank.
  4. Doh... just realised they are the OEM ones, i'd been looking for brackets for ages an none of the OEM ones came up in my search until now, the plastic tube over the fork legs is a great idea.
  5. Where are the headlamp brackets from if you don't mind me asking, they are very smart & professional looking?
  6. Is the idle speed set too low on the carbs, from what I can fathom from reading the thread but not bothering to watch the videos ( life's too short ), it sounds like the OP is trying to speed up the tick over by tightening the throttle cable?
  7. I fitted a set of these to my GSX1100 and took the feed from one of the carb tops, no issues the pipe size was the same, no sleeving required and it worked fine.
  8. Buy a used Yamaha one MT07 or MT09 etc, then you know its genuine especially if you get one from a reputable breakers in the UK. I gat an MT07 one fur about £30 delivered for my GSX worked a treat.
  9. Welcome aboard, we need more water boilers ! I'm on a budget lightening mission with mine, so keep us posted and keep the pictures coming. So far I've saved loads of weight by taking all the bodywork, tank and headlamps off, unfortunately some of it will need to go back on.
  10. Depends if you are in the UK or USA a the 700's were US market only as far as I am aware. In the UK the 750's are decent all rounders but will never be worth that much as they aren't rare or popular enough, in the UK one with a broken engine would be worth around £2 - 300 ish. I'd imagine that external tuning parts would be similar between the two although I'm not sure whats available apart from exhausts and filter, I'm sure a grown up will be along soon enough to confirm.
  11. I used 36 ml ones on my gsx1100es with a V&H pipe and piper cross filters and I ended up with 132.5 mains and the standard pilots that the carbs came with think they were 47.5’s the main issue was off idle adjustments and I think I ended up with the pilots 1& 1/2 turns out
  12. Anyone know what other bikes share the same CLUTCH master cylinder as a 93 1100 WP? Only I'm trying to source a shorty lever and can't find any listed, can I use one of something else. TLR, SV bandit, any ideas?
  13. Really subtle and classy, sometimes less is more as they say, Inspiration for me to finish mine.
  14. check the all balls bearing site to see of there is an option just to swap bearings.
  15. I've also got a WP and as you say they have a fat "arse" I was wondering myself what else would fit, I think an older rear end of an L or M could be fitted but would require a matching sub-frame as the WP one is wide at the rear around the grab ail area, but I expect it could be done.
  16. One more thing, where do I take vacuum from for the fuel tap, from one of the stubs on the carb tops & does it matter which one?
  17. No they're not 55 mm as I have 55 mm filters already and they are nowhere near big enough. If not I'll measure the circumference and work that back to a "round" diameter and see what matches.
  18. Guys, I've bought a set of Bandit 1200 carbs for my GSX and need to buy some filters either K&N or Ramair but all the filters listed or pictures of them at least show a round Filter intake yet the carbs are oval? So can anyone confirm what year and bike my carbs are off please so I can order the right filters. Here are a couple of pics;
  19. Question time, hoping someone has done his before, I'm sure people have. Anyway been struggling to get me GSX1100ESD running right since I've had it so for the last 2 years, I've given up on the current set of standard carbs and am looking for an easy swap to something newer. I think I've settled on bandit 1200 36 mm cv's, but wanted to know if they will fit my inlet rubbers as my carbs are 34 mm, however measuring the o/d of my current carbs they come in at around 42 mm. Also can anyone confirm that bandits use a push pull throttle? if so then I will need a new throttle / twist grip assembly. If this is the case I might go to a quick action throttle, but would want to keep my standard switch gear, so again is this possible would it ll fit together? Also would standard B12 jetting be in the right ball park for a GSX1100?
