  1. Maybe it was 'blown' off......all that talk about turbo upgrades perhaps lol
  2. Anybody happen to find my numberplate lying around by any chance The sun must have been so hot it softened the stickies on the back..I wondered why the bill gave me a funny look as I rode through Horncastle on the way home!!!
  3. Grow some 'man hands'......
  4. I'm coming down (or up depending on view)on Saturday for a jolly but cannot do Sunday unfortunately....I don't mind sticking my bike somewhere in the vicinity of the stand to make numbers up if you like. Saves parking in the bike park
  5. Does the temp rise as you slowly turn the throttle?...
  6. No expert but I would of thought shocks like this work better at a given angle...those look a little too horizontal in relation to the mounting points...Wouldn't the force acting on the shocks in that position put undue stress on components in a way they were not designed to be and change the rate somewhat ???? How about shorter shocks?
  7. Try putting two marks, one on your throttle grip and one opposite on the switchgear housing. Then turn the throttle (engine off) through 1/4..1/2..3/4 making extra marks at each point opposite the switchgear.Go for a ride and make a mental note how the bike reacts at given times in relation to the marks you made....This will help you determine where in the carbs you are experiencing most of your problems... Obviously keep your eyes on the road as much as poss
  8. Im hoping to come along too if work eases off...not sure whether it will be the full weekend yet but hoping to do both Sat and Sun....I missed last years especially when I saw the pics on here!!

    Cadwell 7th june

I may be popping along for a looksee....I will keep an eye open
  10. Buying a new set of rubbers (snigger) is a godsend when it comes to fitting and removing carbs..no more scuffed knuckles and bad language. This is the main reason I bought a set. However I found the rubber to last just a year before it started to crack and split. As Dezza mentioned,it does not help when using basic jubilee clips but even if I had sourced a set of original type clips I still think the rubber would have degraded sooner than the price tag would lead you to believe.... Maybe I had a duff set....but I now have some old ones on mine from Egay which work fine although they are hard as fook lol....

That will be due to that Winged Hammer sticker....plus the added horsepower that comes with it Good luck

  13. So what should we call you now??..fatluckyblokeonabandit??
  14. V+H website says the pipe for the GS1000 will fit a 750 but only states for models from 1980-83....is there any difference from 78-80??
  15. Sorry Viz,I am sure I saw a post on another social media site stating an interest....further investigation shows it was actually my workmates girlfriend who did...the power of Arsebook strikes again. I shall withdraw back the naughty corner
  16. I believe Viz and Minx are interested in this and just down the road from them too, plus they have the brains to possibly put a link up,something that I'm to stoopid to do lol.
  17. Did this on my oil pressure switch plate as that used to weep too....never had a problem since.
  18. Clutch cover,engine case flat on the faces???..no warping,scoring?
  19. All sorted bud....a little tweak on the #4 carb slide made for instant results and idle firing....
  20. Like round tubes of solid granite when cold but otherwise ok...I reckon it's an idle/pilot issue because the bike clears its throat at 1/4 throttle on.The bike runs no different than the last time I took it out so I guess it has been like this for a little while. When I get the opportunity to run the bike at WOT the downpipe will colour and then 'look' to be running equally....I will give the bike a squirt of WD40 or the like around the intakes just to be sure mind.It may be prudent to give the valve clearances a check before Spring too. I have given all the carbs a static sync every time I tamper/clean with them.I found it hard to sync them with a flow gauge but that may be down to rattly slides...I might look at the air gap in #4 to see if it needs tweaking. I had to put in the little decibel killer to bring the noise down a little...Logic told me that two exhausts would be slightly quieter than one....Logic also told me that joining OSS would satisfy my motorcycle needs by showing me other examples of fine machinery and in turn quench my own appetite for spending lots of time and money on old suzuki's....how wrong I was
  21. It's that time of year again when I go into the shed and have a tinker on the bike while waiting for all the road salt to bugger off... I have just finished yet another exhaust because my previous 'sidewinder' used to touch down on the road/track,slowing me down and giving all the oil boilers time to catch up I went for the more conventional downpipes style but going 4-2-2 with the silencers and went for some snide cans from China as I couldn't be asked to make those. To be far, they are pretty well made although they do little in keeping the thing quiet but hey ho...I still need to tweak the left side but it's quite difficult to see how things look when I am in the shed as it's not that big...It's times like this I wish I had a garage. Everything is quickly detachable by springs which makes maintenance a lot easier. The other thing I have noticed is the slightly different exhaust note from each silencer which I guess could help with diagnosis should the need arise...in fact it has helped already as the right side has an irregular pop and it turns out #4 is running different from the other three. This became apparent as the bike got hotter as can be seen from the pics...I was thinking perhaps it is getting too much fuel at idle as winding the mixture screw in all the way reduced the pops slightly but still the pipe didn't get as hot as the others....any other suggestion guys?...
  22. Jt is a good site for info but as banoffee mentions gsxr884 is the man to get what you need...
