  1. Today
  2. Why support a con artist? The frame is probably the result of someone else being ripped off.
  3. Every now and then he advertises a complete frame for sale. Walk in, pay the man and walk out with your new bling is the way to go.
  4. It's not just motorcycle parts A lot of fast Ford & Cossie Owners were victims as well
  5. So about nr.3 on my list: I removed clutch cover and plates today and when I removed the last second to last plate I saw a section of the piano wire tangled on the friction plate where it has gnawed of part of the friction material. I don't know if this is part of the problem or whatever but i know that when I assembled the clutch unit I used a new piece of wire and it was in the groove and both loops was down in the hole where they are supposed to be. So I don't know why or how it has come untangled.... 6 day wait for a new piece of wire. Measured all the friction plates, all where above minimum 2.6 except for the one that had been gnawed on which was about 2.5-2.6. So I ordered a new one. Clutch springs where also above minimum.
  6. Update. 172hp 0.4bar fine tuning with fuel and pitot then more boost
  7. There's 2 of them from what I understand dad and son both have the same name and work together. I would love one of there frames but and it's a big But hear so many bad things it probably ain't a good idea to get tangled up with them.
  8. I know 750W heads fit, and I think 1100W heads fit, since the down draft head on an RF900 won't fit a W frame. Not much out there for 900s, but you can still get big bore 750W and 1100W pistons. I can't remember if the 900 was a big bore 750 or a sleeved down 1100, so no idea on rod length or stroke.
  9. That was my understanding as well, and it would be easy enough to weld, but my friend that's interested in the bike only wants it as a commuter so I doubt he'd really notice it that much as is.
  10. I though that the 94-95 bikes (which this engine is off) had a slightly lighter frame, part of the weight loss programt that they undertook following the slate of critics they got for the first W bikes ? If thats the case this engine can fit in any W frame but probably best to weld that up and re tap if it's going back in a mk2 W frame ?
  11. I’d imagine it’s very similar to the DR100, which was produced for several years
  12. I asume by accident. The head is gasflowed, it has a better throttle response, bit more agressive over a ported one. Never had it installed before I had the guides done, so I couldn't tell you
  13. Never had any dealings with the guy, nor would I ever want too, but this is symptomatic of lots of 'small business start-ups' - they are not prepared to put in the initial capital to produce product to cover overheads and sink any profit back into the business over and over until they become self sustaining - only then should the profits produce a dividend to owner as reward for the hard work / slog to get to that position. I know of one shop that does the 'Rob Peter to pay Paul' business model and has done for as long as i've known it, only difference is they don't shaft the customers and will / do deliver - eventually! Its a bloody hard world currently for the little guys but Martek or whatever they are called now aren't helping themselves (or rather they are but not in a good way!)
  14. It doesn't take any business acumen to not fuck over your customers, and to realise that over 25+ years, it might be a good idea to go into partnership with someone who is good at the non-practical side so as those who are good at the practical bit can concentrate on that. Didn't the Harris brothers work that one out about 30 seconds after they started?
  15. I had dealings with that clown years ago. Hes a talented fabricator but cant run a business to save his life. His MO is to use other peoples money to pay his bills, hence why he takes more orders then he has any intention of fulfilling. I got my money back via my son in law paying him a visit where his bravado promptly vanished. Im surprised he hasnt been filled in yet considering the amount of people he has over. He also makes numerous facebook accounts to defend himself or big himself up.
  16. From my quick Google search, it's a smaller version of the dr125 trailie learner bike from the mid 80s ,same engine in the gn125 custom bike and since copied by the Chinese for a billion cheap commuters , so spares shouldn't be to hard to find, if you cross reference the part numbers ,Suzuki never made 13 of anything except maybe race bikes, it'll be a parts bin special to suit a specific market maybe your area has (or had in the 80s) age, capacity or power restriction for teenagers
  17. I acquired a 1983 Suzuki Sp100 Dualsport in nearly factory condition, only 2k original miles. Having searched nearly every square inch of the internet seems to be little information is available about this bike. based on the one article I was able to find, only 13 were produced in the u.s that specific year. does anyone know why that is? how did this specific design come into existence?
  18. Yesterday
  19. A lambda sensor is useful for tuning but with carbs and unless done on a Dyno you won't know where the slide is when the stumble occurs - throttle position doesn't correspond to slide position.
  20. I drained everything right after I got it, and can't remember if it leaked or not when I got it. Waiting to hear back from my friend that was interested in it before I start doing any more work on it. I could fill it back up with some cheap oil just to see if it leaks or not. I still need to pull the carbs apart and see what condition they're in. I should probably just spend a day going through everything on the bike before deciding what to do with it.
  21. Question time - is a co meter any good for setting the air fuel? They seem pretty cheap these days. I don't want to weld an o2 sensor plug into the system... can I dangle a sensor into the big hole of the many holes in the v&h can?
  22. Yes... another job for next week! It does actually feel like a bit of fuel starvation though. Masking tape round filters next. But I'm going on Eblag to see what mixture analysis device is available - I had a colourtune but hated it!
  23. sounds like its still running lean, try wrapping the filters a small amount with tape and take it for a run and see if the flat spot at 3500. if its better then its defo running lean.
  24. They now do a 19mm one for gsxrs/ bandits. It's not on their website weirdly but other supplies have it. Found this out after I ordered on. Mine just seems hell bent on not quite bleeding enough or holding pressure. What ever I've changed has made shit all difference. I don't have a stock one tofo back to and try. I'm gonna get the clutch out and check the basket next.
  25. Well.. I done valve clearances - lifted needles to one off bottom clip - re balanced & she still farts in the can! The bsr 36 carbs run nice sitting - lovely pick up....but terrible flat spot about 3500 on the road. Thinks I gotta take them off again & do float heights & put needles up another clip!
  26. I tried a hel master on my old k7 1000 but I don't think it has enough travel to clear the clutch and it dragged no matter what I tried (put the stock one back on and bled straight up and worked perfect) spoke to shaun I think at hel and he offered to give me my money back. they have had issues with this before.
