  1. Last night I removed the carbs I had on it & tried to see if the different spacing of the bsr36 would fit.... no problems or buggering about with inlets - they popped on with a wiggle! With a little lathe work even got the original choke pull working with them. I'm waiting now for 147.5 mains & 20 pilots to turn up.. I have no idea what to do with the other intermediate jet ( 3 jets is a new one for me) but they are bench synced & needles on bottom clip. Weekend will be first fire up depending on postman.
  2. I'm just rebuilding the worse set of 2004 gsx750f carbs in the world... to go on my 81 gsx1100. Will let you know when I get the buggers on.
  3. I made a thing! Lunch time - google - office printer - old cd from pile of old cds = free timing wheel
  4. Though the wheel was the only way.. then mark Rotor at 180 from the proper marks. I don't have one- but a bit of Google shows free printable ones for a standard cd. Think I'm doing that at work 2moro
  5. Getting my old dinosaur 81 gsx1100 back together. It's got a dyna s fitted & I wanted to static check it's timing. There is only one set of timing marks on the advancer. 2&3 don't have a mark. Is there a trick I need to know? Or do I have to fit a timing wheel to set it 180 degree fron the 1&4 marks? Oh and the mk1 1200 bandit carbs I bought for it are pretty much beyond repair! I can't see the classifieds yet - so anyone got something for sale? Ta muchness.
  6. I know it's an old thread... but did you find any? I'm now in need of a front rebuild for mt 81 gsx1100.
  7. I've used that stuff on my vmax. Toolstation sell it. It works in the end. There used to be German stuff called profi I think. It was amazing! Think gretta has stopped its sale now.
  8. Has any one properly removed & blanked the tps actuator on the carb side? I'm rebuilding a 1200 carb set to go on my 81 gsx1100... so have no need for the ugly little plastic lump or its actuator rod.
  9. Thanks for that... everytime I've split a bank of 1100 or bandit carbs - these have always looked dodgy! This time I'm buying them first!
  10. Before I split my 1200s carb bank - anyone know the proper name for the rubbers that seal the joint spigots? Or better still a good uk source for them.?
  11. That was my thoughts...and it will get it closer to the tyre.
  12. I've been staring at it again... and now thinking of trying to modify the mounts to side mount like mk2 forks to enable ordinary "un slug" round guard to fit. I'm fed up of goolgle images as every type with the flat top mount seems slug like.
  13. I hate the front mudguard! Before I attack it over Xmas to make it less squashed slug like.... is there any others models that sort of fit?
  14. I have brown boots. They was cheap in a sale.! Never used beard products or considered a man bun.
