Gixer1460 Posted April 6, 2016 Share Posted April 6, 2016 Why fit N/A gearing when you have loads of turbo torque to pull taller gearing (bonus is nicer ride not having to stir the box constantly!) I used 17/45 on my Kawazuki and have 17/40 on the 1460. Quote Link to comment

Screwriverracing Posted April 12, 2016 Share Posted April 12, 2016 I have higher gearing and like gixer1460 says it's a lot easier to ride no up and down the box, just leave it in top and use the boost, when it was draw through the front wheel would come up at 120 gently then back down on its own, always good fun when overtaking on the mountain at the TT. coombehouse Posted April 12, 2016 Share Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) Dont forget to make allowances for wheel size. I would guess on a turbo bike you would be running 17inch wheels with a 180 rear which means 17/45 gearing is close to 15/42 on the original wheels.
