Duckndive Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Standard at the mo on the 1216 oil boiler draw thru EFE .... but I did run taller gearing on my last Air Cooled Draw thru....which worked well.....17 Front with Stock Busa Rear ..... 1 Quote
Bigkenxx Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 Thanks very much lads , the bloody rear sprocket on mine is like a bin lid it wheelies to aggressive it's time for a new chain so I will change the sprockets to a standard ratio thanks again everyone Quote
Gixer1460 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Why fit N/A gearing when you have loads of turbo torque to pull taller gearing (bonus is nicer ride not having to stir the box constantly!) I used 17/45 on my Kawazuki and have 17/40 on the 1460. Quote
Bigkenxx Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 Well I'm going to try standard as a base to start with , sprockets aren't expensive so can play around with the gearing to suit my riding style. Quote
Screwriverracing Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I have higher gearing and like gixer1460 says it's a lot easier to ride no up and down the box, just leave it in top and use the boost, when it was draw through the front wheel would come up at 120 gently then back down on its own, always good fun when overtaking on the mountain at the TT. Cheers SRR 1 Quote
coombehouse Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) Dont forget to make allowances for wheel size. I would guess on a turbo bike you would be running 17inch wheels with a 180 rear which means 17/45 gearing is close to 15/42 on the original wheels. Have a look at http://www.gearingcommander.com & play about with the sizes to see what changes. Edited April 12, 2016 by coombehouse Correction 1 Quote
Bigkenxx Posted April 13, 2016 Author Posted April 13, 2016 Really appreciate the comments here lads I'm going order some chain and sprockets this Friday Quote
