You could spare a day and an evening if you push it out the box, work/home/travel loads to there extreme. Planing on coming to your due if the new place plays out. 1 Quote

Unfortunately being more than an hour or two away from home, or having a drink beyond driving level, is a no go at the moment due to my Mum and my mother in law. I need to be at home or able to get to Coventry at short notice. Add on the workshop arse ache and it's just one of those periods in life where we have to be grown ups. Stafford or Newark are OK as I can pop home at night, North Yorkshire is a bit more of an expedition. Quote

clivegto Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 Fitted the new oil cooler and freshly painted lines rebuilt the fuel pump re-fitted it rigged an auxiliary fuel tank up to the Zooma which is parked next to the busa. Turned the ignition switch on and off a few times which showed fuel was circulating back the the tank. Pressed the go button and it hesitantly fired up , the the FI light came on but the engine appears to run smoothly all the way through the rev range. I ran it through a few heat cycles and after about the 5th the FI light went out happy dayz 8 Quote

I’m not 100% sure. It’s not a swap I’ve done, with the Gen-2, 3 and B-King it’s just changing hangers and rear mounts, but they are all 1340’s not 1299’s. So much swaps and mixes between models it’d expect it to be do-able. Id think kjabusa on here would know ? @kja.busa? Edit: Thinking about it, I knew Brocks listed some of their pipes to fit 99-24 models, but when I just double checked they also list a kit that moves the rad forward on Gen-1’s to use the Gen-2 pipe. https://brocksperformance.com/content/Instructions/Hayabusa/996460.pdf Edited June 3 by Tony Nitrous Quote

caferacerdan Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Got a mint low mileage mk1 myself that I leave at my Dada garage for him to ride. Completely stock...il no doubt turbo it eventually but for now I want to get that slabby fully running and reliable first... Be good to see what you do with yours bodywork wise etc and wheel/suspension wise...be keeping an eye on this build! Think Pete does he221 kits for busas btw...even if you just get the headers off him Quote
kja.busa Posted June 3 Posted June 3 The gen 2 exhaust isnt a straight fit, if you want to fit it you have to remove the two cast lugs, which carry the undertray tail section. I run a gen 2 Yoshi 4:1 on one of mine, it takes a straighter more direct route so the lugs were cut off, and flushed back. 1 Quote

clivegto Posted June 3 Author Posted June 3 Couldn't find my stash of m8 nuts for flushing the tank so used beer tops which I had a bucket full of mixed with petrol. Some proper crud came out of the tank rinsed it with water the filled it with 50/50 mix of molasses and water. I'll turn the tank round every now and then for a while. 3 Quote

clivegto Posted June 6 Author Posted June 6 (edited) Made a temporary tank up out of a 1 gallon diesel can with a feed from the bottom a return to the top and a little stihl chainsaw breather so I could ride it round the yard a bit. It's stopped smoking completely now so the rings must have freed off. Edited June 6 by clivegto 14 Quote

clivegto Posted June 9 Author Posted June 9 Does anyone know what the exhaust port spacings are on these, are they the same as the gsxr1100w's. I know the oil boilers are different from the 1100 water boilers. Quote
clivegto Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 Went to see that nice man Gary May of Genspeed Racing near York. Bought a good tank of him for 50 quid that's mint inside and is matching color to my'n with bosses welded on for turbo use he has had a load of clutch judder spacers made up so he chucked one of those in as well and a set of old busa turbo headers was well pleased to say the least so gave him 60 quids. What a top man, happy dayz . 4 Quote
