  1. Rossco's engine ? Sad end to be dumped in a muddy field !! Thanks for dropping the motor off with Clive. Gaz
  2. I DO hope thats not my engine FFS !!!!!!!!
  3. Are any parts from a 750F motor compatible with 1200 Bandit motor ? Starter ? Alternator ? I know the side covers will swap. Just thinking of breaking the motor for the DOT head ( to sell ) Will MK2 1200 Bandit switch gear fit onto a Mk1 loom ? Gaz
  4. Im a fan of hydraulic clutches as anyone with an EFE would understand. The 7/12 is hydraulic and I love it. The new build will be as well. Gaz
  5. £15 on the bay of e's , unless of course any one has been using one for a door stop and now wants rid ? Gaz
  6. 750F teapot. That gives me a bit more choice, Thanks Dezza. Gaz
  7. Cheers TG, more info into the little black book of " How to............." Gaz
  8. At some point on the future build I will be using K1 K2 or K3 instrument pod. Im told I will need a B12 Mk2 sprocket cover as it has the digital speed sensor . Will this cover fit my 750F engine and will the hydraulic clutch mechanism be OK with the 750F pushrod setup ? Cheers chaps Gaz
  9. well, as the old harness had been butchered i finally decided to strip all the old sheathing off to see what was underneath. guess what ? a cut off wire taped into the loom. The very wire i thought didn't exist. i now have my connections !!
  10. I'll take a photo of the plug end tomorrow and advise the cdi wire colours. its a two plug cdi. one plug is 6 pins output( 4 in use central two pins not used) . i would imagine the 4wires from these pins go to the coils. the other plug is a 4 pin ( input) from the pickup. blue, brown and the green yellow. one pin not used.
  11. the green yellow does not come from the engine, its just a short wire in the cdi plug end. it just comes out of the cdi unit. oil pressure switch is connected elsewhere in the loom.
  12. 400FJ. pickup lead from from engine to CDI. has a 4 pin block on the end which connects to the CDI unit Brown wire....... check pin 1 Blue wire..........Check pin 2 Yellow green wire........pin 3 Where the flock does this wire connect to ?????? no compatible connectors anywhere near CDI unit ? The OSS collective is my last hope as no one in the known universe seems to be able to answer this one This is the last wire of the harness connections Bag of Sweeties to the correct answer Gaz
  13. One more wire !!!!!! Short Green/yellow attached to 4 pin plug on CDI. No connection anywhere near CDI for it to connect to . Wheres it go ?? Gaz
  14. that looks good, very neat conversion. I think Im going in the opposite direction. 600 xr swingarm with twin shock conversion. Gaz
  15. Putting the rats nest of wires together and I have a question. The rev counter has a 3 connector plug. Central pin is Orange/ Green, outer pins are Black/White and Black Red. I have two available pins on the harness that fit this plug. Plug 1. Central pin is Orange/Green , outer pins are Black/White and Black/Yellow Plug 2. Central pin Orange /Green outer pins Black/White and Blue I guess the question , as Orage/White and Black/White are common, would the Black/Red wire connect to the Black yellow on Plug1 or connect to the Blue wire on Plug 2. I hate wiring. Gaz
  16. Starting to rebuild the little thing but i cant find the location of the cooling expansion tank . It wasnt there when I bought the bits so never seen it fitted. There appears to be two mounting points on the tank but i cant find corresponding mounts anywhere. Is this tank frame mounted or does it fit inside the fairing somewhere ? Has any one got a photo / picture of its location ? The Suzuki Parts lists just show it floating in mid air and not fixed. Can anyone help ? Cheers Gaz
  17. Excellent ! Thanks for that, I can carry on finding bits to make it fit, ( did you use all 750 parts in the swap ?) Gaz
  18. Thanks for that, First gen 600 and 750 had the same wheelbase ( 57.9inches ) so not sure what the difference in swingarms was. I have a 1994 600 frame that im putting a 750 motor in ( just using up stuff thats laid about ! ) but want a fat tyre in the back. My next question ( which you mention ) is ........ will a late swing arm from a 750 fit into an early 600 frame ?? Presumably to use the 750 knuckle, dog bones and shock. Has anyone done this ? I realise its a tricky conversion to try and use blandit or xr parts, just thought 750 bits would be easier if possible. All help greatly appreciated. Gaz
  19. I know the 600F and 750F share many parts but as the 750F uses a wider rear wheel ( 4.5 against 3.5 for the 600 ) is the swingarm wider on the 750 than the 600 ? Gaz
  20. Thanks boys, shed prop it is then
