SMARTY Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 Wondering what rear end would fit the ez frame without to much butchering. Space wise. Would obvoisly have to make brackets for shock. My frame is a 1983 gsx1100ez. Quote
davecara Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Whats the width across the pivot? Most stuff can be made to fit easy enough. Depends if you want to change wheels too also 1 Quote
slayer61 Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 The EZ uses the ally swingarm, right? That's a great swing arm. The Kaw guys use them as an upgrade for their KZ units. It'll take a wide wheel quite easilly. Quote
coombehouse Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Gsxr600 srad or k1-3 is the same width across the pivot. They are quite beefy too. Quote

johnr Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 speak to some of the german guys. cos of german TUV rules any mods need to be revesible and not involve any modification of the frame, many of the german kat club guys have fitted monoshocks that are entirely bolt on modifications, so they can be removed and refitted without cutting the frame. theyll be the guys to ask about what swingarm and suspension mods to make without altering the chassis. 3 Quote
LLD Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Is a swingarm of a Bandit 12 not an option ? With some small parts it fits without modifying the frame 1 Quote

With some small parts it fits without modifying the frame yes a bandit swinger will fit easy, you will need to get some tophat spacers made or just sleave it down from 20mm to 16mm. 2 Quote

The last one I picked up recently was a bit rough and had some DIY paddock stand bobbins mounts on it, but I was told it came out of a K*wasaki where it was, as you said, used as an upgrade. gorbys Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Bandit 1200 fits without mods. You need to machine adapters for the pivot bearings and bolt and weld on shock mounts. Also I'd advise using a 170 tire instead of the bandits original 180 for better fram clearance... 3 Quote

I've got a Bandit swingarm too. Is yours also a 1000?? Just had to make bushes into the existing bushes. Quote

LLD Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 My 1100ESD with Bandit B12 swingarm Used bushes for the 16mm axle (Bandit is 20mm), welded shock mounts on. As I wanted to retain the original passenger footrests and rear brake pedal, I had to move the brake cylinder to an outboard position Quote
