I have 3 engines, and one empty frame, 

1991 gsxr 750 (burning hideous amounts of oil and exhaust threads wrecked) 

 

1989/90 gsxr 1127 (bottom end bearings badly gone) 

 

1991 gsxf 1127 (2nd gear gone) 

 

 

What is the best combination I can make, iv looked at frankemsteins guide there's a lot going on in it. I'm going to look again but I think the gsxf bottom end with the  750 6speed box, and I'm struggling to understand if the gsxr1127 head will be an improvement over the gsxf

I would put the 750 box in the F cases with the R cams. i have a 1216 fitted like that and it has great feel to it thanks to the proper gearing of the 6 speed box

If it's anything like drilling the output shaft (which I would have to assume it is) , there is a lot of useful info in this thread...
 


Since they are case-hardened they can be pretty tough going to drill through from my understanding

I’ve chased a badly damaged thread on my wp engine output shaft. Found it fairly soft considering It’s load case. 

Should drill fine of It’s anything like one.
