CockneyRick
Anybody tell me a good fuel tap to use, GS1000 tank with 44mm hole spacing running to the VM33ss so has to be single outlet with no vac? CutNpasted from my build thread as no response. Quote Link to comment

CockneyRick
Seems like a lot of work just for a simple tap swap for me! Quote Link to comment
gs7_11
Pingel adaptor plate and Drag Specialities 3-pos tap on one of mine. 2 Quote Link to comment

No, me too: mine leaked after a while. Ray Debben will rebuild with new seals for £25 though, which is a lot cheaper than a new tap. Edited May 19, 2020 by Dezza Quote Link to comment
CockneyRick
Yep, seriously have no interest in paying £150++ for an overpriced sieve! 1 Quote Link to comment

True, but they're much cheaper if ordered via Trumpety-doo-daa-land, even with import duty, although it's still expensive for a tap. Those Drag Specialities jobs look just the thing though Quote Link to comment
CockneyRick
Got a link to them? Quote Link to comment

Trawl through Eblag: the postage and import fees vary widely among sellers (???) but last time I looked it was possible to get one with pre-paid import duty included for something like 85-90 quid, maybe less I forget now. Personally, the next time I need a tap I'll be looking at those drag specialities jobs. It looks like they do one similar to a Pingel for about 1/3 the cost. Quote Link to comment

It's a RH outlet, which could be a bit awkward, but worked ok on mine. They seem to have a LH outlet in black. 1 Quote Link to comment

Askamaskinservice
Anyone tried a homemade adaptorplate and a valve like this? It's 10€ at the hardwarestore, for water obviously. Edited May 20, 2020 by Askamaskinservice Quote Link to comment

Shame the adapter plates alone are at least double the tap price! Quote Link to comment
gs7_11
Yeah, fortunately I already had one from a leaky Pingel! Still cheaper than Pingel alone, and probably won't leak! Quote Link to comment

Can you buy rebuild kits? Mine came with the tank I purchased. Quote Link to comment

Dezza
Yep, he is down somewhere near Ringworm. Just phone him up and explain the problem. He is very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I posted my tap to him and paid over the phone by card. It was all done within a week Quote Link to comment

Have the parts shipped to my house. Come over here on vacation, throw the bits in your personal luggage for the return trip. 1 Quote Link to comment
