  1. I may have a use for a spare. Biscuits, pies or wine gums ?
  2. I predict that reservoir will be a lot more "remote" shortly.
  3. And hopefully a man who draws for a living would have a good "eye" for that sort of thing.
  4. Thanks Paul, I've been dicking about will the footrests trying to get them just right and it was nice to wheel it out so I could actually sit on it. Getting nearer to being sent off for a tank, the one on it is, sort off, the right shape but the proper one will be shorter and lower.
  5. I've heard Mr Foale is a very helpful bloke, you can find him on t'internet and ask him personally.
  6. They're actually ear defenders and, if you'd ever been in Le Mans campsite on a Saturday night, you'd know why.
  7. If the part numbers are the same....... the bearings are.
  8. Thanks Paul ( I really must sort out decent camera). Just a little update with the footrest hangers I've done, I'm quite pleased with them. I've now got to sort the mounts onto the frame and for the rear master cylinder. I think I'm going to have to adjust /alter the bit that will push on the m/c to get the angles/ratio right.
  9. If it's any help, and you know how the test is done, I have a db meter you can borrow. It also has a temp gauge for tyres IIRC.
  10. Bloody Nora, it's a long time since I've seen a RAU frame. From what I remember they are very similar to an Egli, not sure if that was "inspired by" or an ex employee setting up. Lovely project you've got and I'm looking forward to updates. Any chance you could push the boat/wallet out and find a pair of "period" aftermarket wheels for it ?
  11. Thanks. I'm going to make those carbs work but I'm going to have to make some more new inlet stubs to mount them, o well, sigh.
  12. I've heard that this is possible with an inlet rubber swap, has anybody any idea what it is ? I'm looking to fit VM29ss onto a WP 750. Ta.
  13. Thank you. I can't take any credit for the welding but the design and fabrication is all my own work. I've stuck to the great advice I got from Gav at GIA to get all the joints a perfect fit before welding, it makes for a far stronger frame with very little chance of distortion. To do this I've made a jig so I could do all the tube notching in the miller using a holesaw and then been very careful with the tack welding to hold it firm. Result ? 0.25mm runout between front and rear spindles. Better than stock frames. I'm quite happy with that for a first attempt. I'll explain the strange rear end of the subframe as things go along but if anybody wants to take a guess.............
  14. Thanks guys. It's a bit slow going but it's my first attempt so I'm trying to make it as good as I can, perfect joints, no welding up gaps. There has been quite a bit of scrappage. Them carbs ? Yes, I've got to make a completely new rack for them to get the spacing right.
  15. That's a bit far for coming round. I may be able to do it for you but when I'll get time to do a proper job is another matter. When do you need them by ?
  16. Thanks, that's the measurement I wanted. If you have a look at my thread "just thought I'd show you my 750" you'll see the frame I may want to squeeze one in.
  17. Whereabouts are you ? I have Akrapovic full systems for both a B12 mk1 and a GSXR1100wp, both 4-2-1 if you want to measure them.
  18. Before you pull it apart could you measure how tall it is from base gasket to cam cover gasket ? I need to know how much space to leave in case I want to fit an 1100 in my frame. Ta.
  19. Thanks for posting those up Paul. Thought I'd do a little update for anybody that is interested. It's taken a while to get the subframe done and welded, a combination of me taking a couple of attempts to get it right and waiting for my mate to have chance to weld it ( I'm not complaining, he's married got kids and running his own business). I also managed to get a few bits sorted while waiting but, now I have a fixed seating position I can actually sit on, things should move on a bit. The amount of things you can't do till you have a seat is annoying. Hope you like it so far.
  20. Getting back on topic and ignoring snips from uninterested people, what are you plans for it ? Fix the details and run it as a daily stocker or get the spanners out ? The RF can be a bit of a super sleeper under all that plastic and "Marmite" looks.
  21. I see. I'm using a 750 in the frame I'm making but have both so I was curious about what combo's I could do in the future. I'm using the 1100 sump and hoping to convert to 1100 hydraulic clutch to tidy up having a cable hanging out in the breeze.
  22. So what combo did you run ? 750 runs 18mm piston pin 1100 runs 20mm piston pin.
  23. I wouldn't have thought they would have changed the journal size on such a short "model life" engine.
