  1. I have looked at the car air filter and thye would work well, once I decide on which carbs, its the budget that's the problem!!!!!!!!
  2. Its not scientific as I didn't keep a note of which cams came from which engine, the only ones im sure of are the "B" ones, the rest came from 2 x b12's a gsxr 1127 and a power screen
  3. Apparently the cams from the gsxr750's with dot heads have a B stamped on the right end very unscientific I know, but a few years ago I measured a box full, a pair with the B mark definitely came from a DOT head gsxr.???
  4. Fatlump........ I didnt know we had met??
  5. Only 2 places a 750 J/K or teapot 750's they are all the sameish, some say the inlet is steeper on the gsxr but ive had a gsxf and a tpot one and apart from the colour they looked identicle...
  6. I had already ordered one of the cone filters to try, I had them on my 1216 bandit for a while, but was told by the dyno bloke that they were a bit restrictive and the foam ones were better, But on the standard engine they should be ok??? I need to find/borrow/rent a set of the flatslides to try to see how much room there is
  7. how much more room will they give me??? the air filters look crap all scrunched up..!!!
  8. Tried that, its impossible to do the bolts up, so no go
  9. Nothing wrong with modding the fins, but 13 mm more clearance would make everything soooo much easier, and the EFI idea has been put on the " Too difficult/expensinve" pile for now
  10. Cheers shipmate thats 13 mm, it might make all the difference
  11. Right this thing is really doing my tits in!!!!!!!!!!!! now with the b12 engine bolted in, i cant get the carbs on with the alternator on!!!!! so took off alternator, still dont go, so off with the outside carb tops, then it they fit ARSE ARSE ARSE Anyone got a 750 motor and a 6 inch rule, how much shorter are the 750 engines??????
  12. Tee Hee that looks fookin' heavy shipmate you need a couple of fatblokes to give you a hand
  13. Niice seat unit I did my magum in sort of heron colours not sure it its right but I liked the look
  14. it will come off if I grind the cooling fins off of the front, but once off the head will come off easily!!!!! I cant move it back anymore as the carbs need every MM of space to fit under the sloping frame rail...
  15. So after 3 hours messing with spacers and washser and stuff, its in the middle and the pipes will go on, its tight, flippin' tight but they will go, so I can crack on with the proper mounts and spacers knowing that it will work after all. And I really wish id marked the down pipes and link pipes so i knew where they all went, its like a very difficult 3 dimensional jigsaw puzzle.??? anyway time to start cooking a fatboys Sunday lunch and drink beeer....
  16. Its fookin' tight, i have several squashed fingers to prove it
  17. Right at last im in a position to fit my spare Bandit engine to see if the exhaust and everything is going to work, BUT it dont fit, so off with the sump and pick up, and thats better, had to get Mrs fatbloke to help getting the forks in, but getting some where now
  18. So tried pressing and warming and hitting with various hammers, that pins not moving, luckily there was 2mm gap between the shock and the swinger boss, so hacksaw and long series drill did the job, it was solid in there replacerd with a bandit suspension bolt the shock spring is way to short for the body as well????? very strange, at least it all moves now and isnt solid anymore.
  19. Yup your right, its the bottom shock pin thats really defeating me, im going to make something to hold the swinger in a press and use that rather than beating it with a big hammer like i was taught in the Navy anyway it progress
  20. so the phrase " back to square one" springs to mind cant believe how tight and dry everything was!! cant get the bottom shock pin out, looks like someone had a go with a chisel
  21. i think youre mistakem shipmate, sv650 had 3.5 inch rims and 290mm discs
