I wouldn't bother with skimming on a standard b12 motor if you are going to go turbo.

....some half decent pistons, a lock-up clutch, big boy pants....

I would double check your throttle twist grip and cable. make sure the throttle is allowing the carbs to fully shut, make sure the cable is in the correct hole on the tube and that the twist grip is moving freely...even check the cable is not being fouled or obstructed in ant way .....it might sound like 'sucking eggs' but it's worth double checking.

how are the rubber mounts from carb to head? if they have a hole/rip or are not fastened up air will get in.

oh maybe mine was a mag1.....it was so shit and so long ago I've kinda forgotten about its details.....it was sold to me as a mag2 but I was young and foolisher

you could specify any tweaks when you ordered from harris new....but they were grumpy about it, so some frames were [probably] inevitably modified after purchase.

my mag2 also looked a bit weedy on the side tubes but had the same mounts as it had a harris fairing on.

my mag2 had a square section arm....but as you say I think most of the standardish mag2s I've seen had tubed swingers

I still liked the other front tubes.....mwhahahaha....looking good loopie
