  1. I had one on my GS1000, the Racing. Wasn't high performance, no clue what it does compared to the stock exhaust. Pretty decent quality, sounds alright too!!
  2. Have you been experimenting with different deree settings of the cams? 106 is about standard, isn't it? I have a little bit with mine, and on my bike the engine ran at it's best at stock setting. If I set the timing different the bike got sluggish, slow throttle response
  3. My GS1000 had the same problem, but at a lower rpm, it had K&N filters, AFR was all right through the whole RPM range, except that one dip. I just learnt to live with it, till I started to modify stuff
  4. What CR do you have? No clue how it is with the GSX, but the higher CR on the GS did a bit. This was with a 1085cc kit. Now I've got a 1247cc with lower CR, and that has quite a bit of poke before boost comes in. But hard to say with the 1085 kit if it was the higher CR or more displcement, most likely a bit of both. What I did learn, performance cams on a stock CR makes your bike slower instead of faster
  5. JE Mine don't come from here. But this guy sells a lot of go fast stuff http://www.dynoman.net/engine/pistons/index.html
  6. How close to stock is your bike? If it's very close to stock, you shouldn't start changing jet sizes. With problems like this, always make sure the basics are ok, valve clearence, spark plugs, carbs working properly, and synchronisation, that kind of stuff.
  7. Hmm, if the bike is stock it should be alright, what condition is the air filter? The air filter box should have a hole in it to suck the air through, is that open?
  8. 1230cc I've got a 1247cc on my GS1000, it's realy torquie from just below 2000rpm, I love it.
  9. What brand sparkplugs? Mine doesn't want to run properly on Denso. Took me a while to figure that out
  10. Pour a bit of oil in the pump, turn the gears a bit, that should be alriht, the pump suck pretty good
  11. Do you actually need straight cut gears? from about 180hp I would consider this. The bearings are very expensive, while you're there you want new big end bearings too, and there's the challange, lot of companies say they have them, hardly anyone can actually deliver, I think I bought the last 4 what were available.. https://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-gs1000-1979-n-general-export-e01_model13512/bearing_0926432002/
  12. I wouldn't trust it for one bit!
  13. I bought a set of JE, that was pretty disappointing to be honest.. Size and weight wise
  14. Hard to say. I bought a Subaru Outback with a cooked flat 6 engine, cylinders needed to be bored and oversized pistons. The only pistons I could find, or better, the only company who actually could delivered, was MAG engines from the United Arabic Emirates, those pistons were that cheap, it couldn't be good.. About $30 per piston... I send them an E-mail asking about the quality, because they're very cheap. I was told that they're in a country were there's a parts shop on almost every street corner, so the margins are very small.. Ordered them, pistons looked alright actually, about the same as the OEM ones. After about 4 months later the engine suffered from a spun big end bearing, so I took the engine apart, pistons were/are in very good condition. The GS is not a high performance engine, I think I would take the risk
  15. You probably need an offset sprocket at the front. The carrier of the GS might fit the Bandit wheels. The carrier of my GS1000 fitted the RF900 wheel.
  16. I've got a GSX basket in my GS1000, need to take about 8mm off IIRC Spacer doesn't work, because the basket sits behind a part of the crankcase
  17. Not too long is about 1.5 years, it became stiffer afterwards
  18. How much will it cost to install an EFI? I'm sometimes thinking about it..
  19. The switch has been dismanteled not too long ago, was going reasonable after that, but not like new, lately it's getting stiff more and more
  20. Boys and girl, are there females on this forum? On my GS1000 I've got the light switches of my old GS750 from 1976, so they're 46 years old now. The indicator switch is getting a bit stiff, what's the best way to lubricate it? Oil and grease isn't conductive, so I think that's not suitable for the job I guess? Thanks
  21. My big bore GS1000 gets about 130 degrees C at the head after a proper ride. Winter or summer doesn't seem to matter very much, must say I'm not riding below 10 dgrees, Yes I'm a soft c*ck
  22. I took a brush and liquid gasket / gasket maker, and brushed gasket all around the liners, let that dry, and it works perfect.
