Allspeeds Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Bit off a Boring post but what brand of boost gauge are people using? Seen a few people using similar ones but not been close enough to see the brand Quote
no class Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 nothing about boost is boring...….every part has it's place in the grand scheme of things . Are you looking for a glycerine filled jobbie or electronic type ? Quote
Gixer1460 Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Liquid filled mechanical types are just so much more reliable on bikes than dry electronic ones - high frequency vibes will usually kill them or shake them to bits - my personal preference! 1 Quote
Arttu Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Just some generic glycerine filled stainless gauge from hydraulics / pneumatic shop should be good. I have had mine in use for over ten years. Still works just perfectly and I think I paid less than 20€ for it back in the days. Pretty good bang for a buck. 2 Quote
Allspeeds Posted November 29, 2018 Author Posted November 29, 2018 Yah I want a glycerin filled std type not electronic Quote

CossiEst Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I've got this one. Bought it to match the dynojet wideband gauge. It's mechanical and needle shakes like hell, I only get decent readings when bike is at full boost. Thing was like 6x the money of the previous glycerine filled one.... Quote

Sounds like you need to put a restrictor in the boost signal pipe near to the gauge to damp the needle if its shaking. Quote
B12Mick Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I plan on 'borrowing' this factory gauge off the wife's Impreza Turbo, 40mm dia Mechanical gauge and very accurate Quote
mikeyd Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 I'm giving the KOSO a try. So far so good, and has a peak recall but not much time on it to see how it holds up. Quote

Allspeeds Posted December 31, 2018 Author Posted December 31, 2018 Do I need a gauge to read some negative vacuum or will 0-2.0 bar be ok? Some of you run with and without? Quote

clivegto Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Strangely enough on tick over it reads -6 & I have never seen it above +8. When I had it on John Warrington's dyno we pipped his big gauge that is fastened to the wall onto the bike. It measured 15.9 psi on full wack. Pic is of bike on tick over 950 revs -6psi. Quote
Allspeeds Posted December 31, 2018 Author Posted December 31, 2018 Is yours just 1/4 bsp with the pipe pushed over the threads? Quote
